thank you Bushlady! I have health issues, depression, two small creative children, living in tight quarters on a tight budget and wonder why I throw up my hands in despair so often. crazy

Not sure I can add anything to what the other ladies have said but one thing we sometimes forget to do is follow through with what we've already done... For example we get so busy pumping laundry through that we get stacks of clean laundry every and then they start to get mixed back in with the clean. we end up further ahead if we put away the load coming out of the dryer before putting another load in the washing machine. Same with dealing with donations and papers. Its better to spend 5 minutes sorting paper and then 5 minutes filing and then five minutes shredding (or whatever) than to spend 15 min sorting and then finish with 3 piles instead of one...

Can you do basics on the days you have classes and clinicals and on study days can you sandwich household items with studying ~ take short breaks and do household items in btwn?

Cyd...Putting wheels on the chest is a fantastic idea that I hadn't thought of. THANK YOU!!! And, so much easier to do now, while it's empty. wink I'll have to put "wheels" on my shopping list.

The first of two tax refunds was deposited into my account this morning. HURRAY! (One small state return and then the larger federal-hopefully next week)

Goals for this weekend:

- Grocery shopping - Mother Hubbard's cupboards are bare. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing since we're moving, BUT we do still have to eat between now and then and we've got NOTHING.

- More purging and packing

- Take donations to church thrift store

- Pick up more firewood

- Write proposal for leading another summer camp (I'm excited about doing this again and my idea for the camp. I'd love to use one of the Magic Tree House books about Olympics as a springboard since the Summer Olympics will be happening late July/August. I hope my proposal gets accepted.)

- Empty big file cabinet, put files in banker's boxes, take picture of filing cabinet and put online to get rid of it.

Forgot to add that I've had another brainstorm in regards to storage at our new home.

Well, basically, there are a lot of cabinets in the kitchen, but the place as a hole is lacking on closet space.

Since, I'm turning the dining area in my office/craft area and there is a pantry in the kitchen which we don't have here, this is my plan. I have been using a free-standing shelf unit with a door on it as my pantry in this house. I am going to use that to hold all of our craft supplies in the new home to keep it all neatly corraled in one place and hidden behind the door. HURRAY!

Now, I have all these wonderful ideas in my head. I'm just hoping that I have the space remembered correctly in my head and it will all fit how I have envisioned it.

Way to go everyone! As always you amaze me. Hello to you all. There is 4 more days in January- how are you making out with your goals?

Way to go Carol, you seem to be embracing your new situation.

I have to admit I haven't had time/energy- (issues with sleep or lack therefore of, depression, and anxiety) to tackle many of the projects on my list.

Much of my list surrounded dealing with insane amounts of papers. I did manage to tackle a fair bit of it at school (work place) this week. I sorted, tossed out, and filed a large amount of paperwork.

I am hoping that I can tackle a few small projects around the house this weekend.

Updated my list. Not bad if I say so myself. The solution is to focus on them and do our best to complete them. Of course, we always put down more than is humanly possible, but that is why we aer GONers! LOL

Tina I had similar setbacks last weekend and at the beginning of the week, but picked up eventually with some better sleep, thank goodness.

My January goals are not complete, so I am waiting until the last minute to post my updated list. (who am I kidding, it won't all be done by Tuesday!) I have seen quite a bit of progress, though, so I try not to think too much about what hasn't been done.

Diana....Look at you go! WOW! smile

Here is my progress so far on my weekend goals:

Goals for this weekend:

- Grocery shopping
- More purging and packing
- Take donations to church thrift store
- Pick up more firewood
- Write proposal for leading another summer camp
- Empty big file cabinet, put files in banker's boxes, take picture of filing cabinet and put online to get rid of it.

Also did a few things NOT on my goals list:
- Changed two lightbulbs (and one of them was unreasonably difficult and not because I'm blond because I'm not. crazy)
- Two loads of laundry
- Help DD register for her music lab online (Unsuccessfully, I might add. Somehow we have the wrong access code, and she's going to have to clear that up with her instructor.)

Also, need to add to my goals list balance my checkbook. Oh What Fun! crazy

Went thru patterns I have in one of the file boxes. Put the sweaters into the dresser. Have more to do, but it all takes time. Did 2 babysteps in the basement this morning. Worked on some valentines too.

So far, I'm doing great on my weekend goals list.

Goals for this weekend:

- Grocery shopping
- More purging and packing
- Take donations to church thrift store
- Pick up more firewood
- Write proposal for leading another summer camp (Will work on this tonight while watching TV/movie)
- Empty big file cabinet, put files in banker's boxes, take picture of filing cabinet and put online to get rid of it.
- Balance Checkbook

I've also taken pictures of two bikes that we are getting rid of for someone who is interested in them. Just need to upload the pictures and email them. If she doesn't want them, I will post them along with the filing cabinet.

I'm trying very hard to keep my goals' lists manageable so that I do accomplish what I need to, but also don't get too overwhelmed by doing too much all at once. It seems to be working. I can see progress towards getting ready for our move, but I'm not stressed about all of the work to be done. smile

Nothing like a move to get one into gear right Carol?
You are doing tremendous on the weekends so you don't have to disrupt your work week. You are doing wonderful.
