I had to go right back to find my original list of goals. Here is my progress. Family goals:*Date night with DH is to be reinstated - I can't even remember the last time we had one, which tells me I am definitely doing the right thing making our relationship my focus. This is not going as well as I like as we have both been busy this month and exhausted, but we are consciously making time for just us two even if it is only an hour each night to catch up and cuddle.*Visit granddad once a fortnight rather than once a week - he can come to me the other week when DH is at work so he will not lose out on any time with us. We have changed this back to once a week as when he comes to us he comes first thing in the morning and does not leave until 8pm. At this moment in time I am not at home as much I was so if he comes on my free day I struggle to get college work, home jobs etc done. By going to him we can go for a few hours in the evening, and I can give him my full attention without fretting about my to do list.*Visits to the in-laws will be once a week and like with granddad I will ring them midweek to check on them - weekly visits are occuringHealth Goals*I start the new year 14 lbs heavier than last January so I definitely need to work on that. I plan to focus on eating more healthily rather than dieting. Six pounds lost so far *I also want to increase my exercise as since I started college and volunteering I have not really walked anywhere. This is going quite well although I would like to increase it next month.House *Continue with the decluttering - going very well three bags to donations, lots of items tossed and quite a few sold.*Work on a master list of jobs that need doing - started this this weekend.College All up to date on assignments.

Reviewing my January goals:
Basement: Go through box of picture frames and donate most. Find a place to donate or sell the box of special items, ornaments, etc. "Toss' the brass fire irons, box of comics. Go through large cardboard box. Go through plastic boxes of games, spare dishes, etc. Go through box of dishes, etc. used when we camped. Decide on air purifier, microwave that needs fixing. Reorganize storage areas, especially all the maple syrup equipment. Possibly move freezer and 'beer fridge'. - MINIMAL PROGRESS, air purifier moved up to bedroom, spare dishes added to kitchen, light bulbs coralled in basket and empty cardboard packages tossed.
Computer room or office: My stuff is the main problem. Genealogical binders etc. Drawer full of old greeting cards to get rid of. Supplies of pens, glue sticks, stickies, labels, art materials need to be sorted and stored properly. Closet has stuff which needs organizing. - SOME PROGRESS - lots of paperwork tossed, some things organized.
Laundry room: Need to pull out cleaning supplies and reorganize. DONE.
Storage on walls of basement stairs; Need to take stuff out of organizer wall bins and evaluate what needs keeping, also clean bins. - DONE
DS old bedroom/sewing room: This room still has stuff belonging to DS, also some of my craft supplies and a bin of fabric, some not useful. Closet needs sorting, also the two small cases and box with loads of photos! (these may have to wait a long time!) Two pairs of jeans still to patch, pair of shorts to hem (DHs summer pants worn at bottoms so cut them), skirt to take in. - SOME PROGRESS, sewing done, including a pair of pants taken in. Some fabric used for cat pads.
Front hall closet: Still some stuff needs to go, I never finished sorting it. DONE - not much to do at all.
Our bedroom: Still need to toss some jewellery items. My bedside dresser needs sorting. - SOME PROGRESS
One item not on my goal list was clearing out the bathroom vanity - DONE

Thanks Diana! And, yes, Tinytina. You are right. I am embracing my situation. I am allowing myself to fully experience each and every feeling as it comes along in order to work through everything rather than stuff it all in side and not deal with it. I want to come through this a "whole and emotionally" healthy person. So...I've totally embraced our having to move and I am excited about the new beginning. At first I felt really bad that I wasn't able to make it work here, but in reality, I did make it work. I stayed in this house for the entire length of our original lease, and I did it by myself when the plan was to have two incomes. I think that is a good accomplishment for me to be proud of. I also had some crazy idea that by leaving this house I would be abandoning my life and memories of R, but wrong again. Our plans changed is all. It's just a house and I can take his memories with me wherever I go. Wow! I sound like I've got my stuff together. Actually, I have my moments, but most of the time I'm doing really great now. A great help with that has been journaling and updating R's memorial page on facebook. Each has been a wondeful outlet for me. In my private journaling, I write as if I am writing directly to R about my feelings, what's going on, etc. I actually started the journaling while R was in the hospital and have continued almost every day. On the memorial page, I share pictures and memories of things we did or his favorite things or little quirks and also connect with his old friends. The both have been equally rewarding and healing for me. Regarding my weekend goals from this past weekend: I did get my proposals done for leading 4 camps over the summer for our school and submitted them all Sunday night. I submitted 4 in hopes of actually getting one. I LOVED doing this last summer and would absolutely LOVE to have another one this coming summer. It's lots of fun, and I can always use that extra income.

Carol You are right in your perspective of things and where you are in your life.
I couldn't let go of the incoming message of DH. It freaked out many people (Family mostly) when they first heard it, and honestly it was a good 7 years before I let it go. There are some things we hang on to, and that is okay. It broke my heart to change it but it was time and I had a new system going in.
I wish you luck with the proposals on the summer camp, and hope you get it!
Bushlady: Your master list is good. Looks like you got quite a bit done already, and I love that you aren't stressing about some of it. You know you will get to it eventually ,but when it happens it happens! Good for you!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am happy with what I accomplished this past month. Between the branchess and JDI and ROTM I am thinking things will be done.
Thanks, Diana. I think I should be thinking along the lines of Karen with some broader goals as well. Still looking at February!
Carol, such a healthy idea to journal your feelings. Somehow writing things down helps to "deal with them" and not have them rattling around in one's head. Good to have the precious memories written down to look at in years to come. Hope the summer camp works out.
