Everyone is doing great! Good start of the New Year for all of us.

Well, I went to the hospital, half-crying all the way, afraid how I was going to find my dear wonderful Aunt. I was shocked to see her sitting in a chair eating her lunch with her daughter. She is doing wonderful and was very happy to see me, and wanted to know all about the wedding plans. 84 yrs. old and texting her grandkids from the hospital, you gotta love it!

On the other hand, my DGF's husband is not doing well. I am very worried about him.

Came home, walked Finn in the bitter freezing cold we are having here. Didn't get too much done except a few phone calls and the dishes.

Have energy this morning, hope I can get a lot done today. I don't think I have to go out at all, it's way below zero with the wind chills.

Post from last night...not sure why it didn't go thorugh till now.
Waterlady, hope your family members will be on the mend.
Bubblegum- hugs to you! Our family has had its share of major illness and death lately too...life is definitely so precious.

Finished up my work week yesterday and fell asleep while watching a netflix movie last night. Typical. We went to the children's museum this morning and then hit a new pizza place for free lunch. Everyone took a nap afterwards. Haven't been very motivated to do much around the house in the last week. DH was nice enough to take down the xmas tree and decorations, so I just finished clearing and cleaning off the mantle and redecorating the top. He also picked up around the bedroom and vacuumed while I was sleeping. Got a few grocery rebates out in the mail today and have 1 more to mail out. Hopefully will get back 30 bucks eventually.

Was able to make eye appts for both DH and I for next week. We both haven't had eye exams for several years and signed up for vision insurance this yr. We also both signed up for life insurance, but I'm not entirely happy with the amounts. Will increase it next yr. Just put both insurance policies in a page protector to put in our file cabinet.

Hmmm, had plans to start spreading out and sorting paperwork from office I am emptying but DH needed the large space for refinishing kitchen cupboard doors. Very happy to have the kitchen project under way so I may have to figure out a different paper approach than my old one of just making piles and pitching as I go. I may set up file boxes to get the main sort done at the dining room table, then sit and put each box in order. That way I can remove it after I've done enough for that session and the dining room will survive.

I took a day off today and went shopping for dog stuff instead. I nabbed my brother who took me to the local store.

I got lots of goodies for my dogs gotcha day (March 13th), and some bits I needed for him, such as ear drops, dog hot water bottle and spent an absolute fortune.

It was way too cold to hang around. Id have liked to go into the other shops but my brother had his engine running to keep warm, so I just did the pet shop. Really enjoyed it, with very little panic and that was only when the basket got to heavy - which makes me think its back related. I'll have to have words with the physio at my next appointment. I do suffer with panic attacks etc, so over all pretty good going. smile

Finally got the shredder moved downstairs, after filling it completely. Also moved all the stuff to be shredded down there. This is really the only time of year I do stuff like this. Now that the futon is down there and I am spending more time down there hopefully I'll finish that shredding project. I feel like the bedroom is much cleaner now and I always went through my mail better when the shredder was downstairs.

Spent 15 mins in my ROTM. I swear I am making things worse in there. I think I have to start moving boxed stuff up to the attic for the time being, there is really no place to put it till the two rooms are done.

Once I get a room finished I seem to hate putting pix or shelving back on the walls. I may need to add some to my office though. I have a small bookcase but that has mostly business books in it. I have to think on this.

Way to go everyone and all their productivity.
Yesterday I managed to get a fair bit done around the house including: -taking out the garbage, 2 loads of laundry (1st load-folded and put away, 2nd load in the dryer still), stripped and remade the bed, washed a load of dishes, cleaned the bathroom (wiped the counter, sink, tub, toilet), cleaned the kitchen (wiped sink, counters, stove), made supper in the crockpot, and cleared out both of my email inboxes. I watched two movies and some sports on the tv. Made 1 pair of earrings.

Lazy day here...made pancakes for breakfast, hit Sam's Club for warehouse essentials (stocked up on lots of meats) and had lunch there. DS and I then took the dogs for a walk. Lots of laundry today...washing the 3rd load and have one more to do by the end of the night. Had DH vacuum the living room and hardwoods of dust bunnies. Just ordered some books online that had been on my to-do list. Think I may take a short nap before DS wakes up.

Have a few ideas of meals to make for lunches/dinners this week, including chicken/rice soup and ziti. Will see how much time I actually have later today. DH watching football at his brother's house so its just DS and I for the rest of the day.

I did some Branch work yesterday. Then, worked in the office a bit, filled a wastebasket full of paper.

Went out to get cigarettes (yuck, I wish I could quit), took Finn for a ride with me. It was incredibly freezing cold out!!!!

Vacuumed the couch and loveseat, wiped them down with the microfiber cloth, put the clean throws on them. Vacuumed the LR and DR. There was a bad draft in the LR window, I did my father's old trick, pleated some newspaper and shoved it in the space. Worked great! Sorted out the bookcase, moved some books to the front porch.

Polished the DR table after I cleared it. DGF called and said her husband is much better (TYG) and my aunt is getting a defibrillator today.

Laura brought dinner over, shrimp stuffed shells, yum. Diana, we don't do an exchange, she loves to cook and always adds some for me. When I cook, I always make enough for her and her DBF. If she has a long day I usually try to cook so she comes home to something all ready. Problem is, we keep all the recipes and I now have a ton of them again, as they are all good!

Today it's freezing again, I'm staying home, I'll do some branch work in the bathroom and try to work in the office a bit to stay on top of it before it gets crazy in there again, ROFL.

You are one busy lady on your days off. Sounds like you balance the days off with fun too.

Tina:
Did a bunch of stuff!

Purdy:
Wonderful that you didn't have a panic attack while shopping for the dog items! YEA for you!

DianeD:
This is my big time to shredd too. Sounds like a good plan where you can sit and shredd to your heart's content!

I finished up project 1 for next christmas last night! Time to move on and finish project 2 . One thing at a time.

Also did more in the basement yesterday and brought up the recycling and trash this morning. That is all I could manage today before I go out with my friends.

Going to do the JDIs and a little branch work before I start to get ready, that way I won't feel guilty if I am too tired when I return from my shopping adventure. (Cross stitch and quilting shops! Hurray!)

I've been busy too. You know you got energy back when you keep cleaning and it doesn't even bother you, one chore after the next!

Yesterday did the bathroom (bath, shower, sink, counter, wipe appliances, toilet, floor) the kitchen (cooking, dishes, fish mini tank, replaced spice bottle in cupboard) the master bedroom (dusted furniture, replaced books and jewellery, washed linens) the second bedroom (put wooden bed raisers, replaced the boxes under the bed, took the clutter off of the table/desk, swept) and paper organizing in the living room (bills, filing, shredding)

This morning I watered the plants, washed sofa cover, swept the rest of the apartement, went through more papers and played on the pc without feeling guilty!!! Now I'm ready to shower and visit a friend before work.
