That is a great goal! I wish you well in obtaining it!
I went into the basement and went thru some drawers and sorted christmas gift bags and tags. Tossed a bunch.

Tossed all the paper the Humane Society gave me after I adopted my Shelter Dog. What was funny is they put it in a green cloth bag, and then loaded me up with all kinds of paper and books that to me was unnecessary due to me having already owned a dog!

Added to the pile, lots of SO's socks-about 30 pair. He keeps asking me to do laundry cuz he is out of sox.I had purchased a package at Costco(their brand of course)about 8 months ago and he loves how padded they are. When asked about being out of sox,he said it was the Costco ones that were out and he had plenty of the other ones in his drawer but that I spoiled him & he doesn't like to wear the other ones anymore.Told him I would get him new ones if he tossed the old ones.So I got him 2 new packs(20 pair) to replace all the different styles he had & when I got home from work last nite, I put them on the counter next to his lunch box. He left me a note this morning with nothing but a big smiley face.
So I am happy as I can toss all the ones with little holes that he wouldn't part with. Thinking that I will wash them and see if the local animal shelter can use them as chew toys.
Did work in the office yesterday before work and tossed about 100 pages(part toss and part shred-counting as 1), and also tossed 4 magazines too.
Not counting the socks as they were replacements, so new total is 60

Just tossed some tags, etc, last night. Also adding a pair of slippers to donations. makes it 104 tossed so far.

Today I am taking a bunch of donations to the thrift shop - approximately 50 items altogether. I was counting but got interrupted and lost count so I'm guessing!
In addition, I am donating an electric tea kettle (near new condition) to my church so that it's easier for the secretary to heat water for tea. I had previously listed this item on the online garage sale site but no one seemed interested.
1940 - 51 = 1889 left to go in 2012.

Hi All,
I have been gone from the forum for quite a while but still was moving forward on all my projects and goals. I am jumping back in because I feel more productive and motivated when you are reporting your progress and it makes it more like a game or should I say challenge. I love this topic because I was thinking the same way of how much can I exit from the house this year. Perfect! I also miss the people and the support and fun of this forum. I will start reporting this week and let the games begin everyone!

In addition to what I already reported, 2 more items left here yesterday - 1 small crock pot and 1 coffee maker. YAY!
1889 - 2 = 1887

Welcome back, Juju! I just recently came back too, and it has been fun to report what I have leave my house! Yippee! Also got my dresser top cleared off, another great celebration!
I would add today that I picked up and threw away some locust tree seed pods, always a frustrating mess in the fall and winter. I've already filled 7 garbage cans full of them twice for the garbage man.
Now I'm look forward to picking up what still remains on the tree and after a wind storm blows them down.
