I've renamed our tossing thread just a bit to reflect our goal of tossing 2012 items in 2012. We had some amazing totals this past year from everyone. I'm proud of all of you!

I'm working on this while I am off school and college. A lot is already bagged to go as I got busy these past few days. I have more to come though, so I will be back later in the week with an update

Well, I didn't quite make the 2011 challenge, but I'll try to meet the 2012 goal!

Started the new year by tossing:

1 eye make up item

I am joining in on this challenge. My goal for 2012 is to "lighten the load" in this house by seeing how close to 2012 items I can get! I'm making this a bit harder for myself by saying that certain things "don't count" - obvious trash, such as empty food containers or used tissues; junk mail that goes straight to the paper recycling bin; and, any things that DH is getting rid of unless he asks me to try to sell his items.

Recently my DH has been sorting through his things and taking things out of the house. I don't want to risk interfering in any progress he is making by asking him to participate in this challenge. I don't know if he's tossing things or just moving them to one of his outdoor storage places.

Yesterday, I got rid of 3 items. I even got a few $$ for them. Wooooo Hoooooo! Win win - I like that!

2012 minus 3 = 2009 to go.

I've started tossing also. I have went through 2 large gray totes of papers and thrown out four 13 gallon sized bags of paper. Next is the filing cabinets. I've been cleaning out all of my bags for school, work, couponing, etc. I've already pretty much have almost everything in my bedroom clean. All I need to do is finish going through and filing papers and straighten up the bottom of my closet. I am hoping by spring I will have the loft all done. I need shelves built though to store items nice and neat and get them off the floor as I need the floor space. I just don't have the money right now to do that.

2012 - 12= 2000 to go.

3 lg. bags of books to consignment store for credit
2 lg. bags of paper from 2011 files, research & working papers for recycle bin
3 boxes Costco canned veggies, Mac n Cheese [never have DH stop at Costco when hungry & on his way home] for Foodbank
4 Bed-in-a-Bag sets to GW
All in car to drop off next outing.

2 boxes shoes & outer wear not yet full enough...

set of boots for dogs (she won't wear them!)

Like Darlene, I'm ready to lighten my load so count me in for this year.

The first 2 were tossed to trash. The rest are in the donation box.

Add an advent wreath, wooden decorative bowl, some ribbon bows (10), 12 & 14 = 26!

Today I can add 5 refridgerator magnets, an oven mitt & a Valentine garland. New total=27.
