I think my January ROTM will have to be my 16-year old son's room. We have started by moving one of his small dressers out to make more room. Next we will rearrange the furniture and reorganize his strategy gaming characters into a bin that will transport more easily and be stored in the utility room closer to where he plays.
Best wishes on your projects, Ladies!

I cut holly and nanidia branches and make a bunch of arrangments. I'm so thankful you all gave me the idea. They looked really nice and are plenty big enough that I don't need anything else. Now hopefully they will last a long time.
DD will go to the hosiptal and take a around of antiboodics for some infection and when they're finished they will be inducing. So by Monday night I will have a new DGS named Colin. I'm just thankful something has been decided. Of course Mother nature may change all those plans......
That means I I can start planning my DF's 90th birthday [arty the 15th. I'm going to call the center and see if I can schedule the library for that day. I've already talked to them about it so it shouldn't be a problem.
I'm so far ahead i=in my copies at school it's unreal. Now I've got to work on getting grades in. I'll do that tomorrow while I show this short video because tomorrow after school I go to the eye dr. and I probably won't be able to see well after he gets through with me.
Am Vets called and they will be here the 22nd. That means I really need to work at getting stuff ready for them. The goal this year is toss..toss...toss...toss

Cindy CONGRATULATIONS grandma! Hope all goes well with the delivery and DD is feeling fine. Let us know the statistics when it happens.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hoping to elimate more paper this week! Gosh there is so much that accummulated over the past few months! Yesterday I had a couple of calendars and brought that over to the center. They have a giveaway table, so I put them on there. Usually people share books and magazines and whatever they want.
Thanks all, it's starting to make good sense and I'm now seeing a plan form. Came across a white board I forgot I had and am just filling in the big plan while I declutter, writing down tasks that are over and above regular cleaning and fun stuff to do like sewing projects. Didn't realize how some things had slipped while I focused on my second job. Now that it's over, I am looking forward to doing more creative stuff for my own purposes again.
My rotm will be my office/laundry/storage/craft room again. A couple of days ago I moved the shelving unit to the front porch/entry and moved the filing cabinet into the office. visually, it looks less cluttered already
First DECLUTTER, that makes the Branches work easier, and I can understand your confusion. Let the branches go until you are all decluttered.
I have been working on my basement about two years! Doing a little each month. Things are much much better. Had tons of mom's stuff stored down there, and as the years go by I am finding I don't need all my "stuff", omce i cleared out most of mom's things,so hopefully will finally finish the ROTM. There is no time limit on the ROTM....it can continue (me as an example ) until you complete it.
The branches are useful for keeping the clutter under control, deep clean blinds, under beds, closets, etc.
Hope this clears things up for you and other NEWBIES who are returning.
This helps clear things up for me and I've been here a while now, LOL. Good to read that you've been working on your basement for about two years now, as I'm sure I've been working on some rooms in my house for longer. This is the year that I am going to make a real effort to declutter and organize. My DS's are older now and it's more clear what we do need and don't need at this point. My dining room table isn't too bad and now it's time to clear it off, so between swim meets, soccer games and soccer practices this weekend, I may have some time to work on this!
I've been working at my kitchen project, small steps at a time. I've gotten rid of some things that were not all that useful to me. Hopefully they'll prove to be more useful to the new owners. My counter top is already less cluttered and I have just started.
I cleaned 1 shelf in my fridge the other day (baby steps) and cleaned 1 drawer today. The drawer was by necessity, not choice but I'm happy that it got done. I emptied the drawer so DH could fix the drawer glide. So before I reloaded it, I washed it out and then put most of the stuff back in.
I pulled out some bowls that I didn't need, took a pic of them and posted it on the online garage sale site. Plus I now have 3 more items to post on that site - a dutch oven, a small crock pot and a candy dish.
I found a tatty plastic storage container so I tossed that and its lid in the trash.
I put some different bowls in my drawer so that these other bowls will now be easy to access and use.
All in all, I've had a fairly productive day moving towards my goal of a lighter, more streamlined kitchen with less overflow on the counters.
I've made some progress. Just need to keep plugging away so that my efforts don't get sabotaged...
