got the downstairs floors all vacuumed and washed ~ involves moving a lot of stuff (sigh). also got the chairs all cleaned ~ didn't get the hair out of all the rollers though ~ new rule ~ whoever wants the rollers gets to clean them A couple of babysteps done in the bathrooms..

went to make icecream with DD's new cup maker but the icecubes didn't freeze in the little freezer's freezing department ~ weird b/c it needs defrosting...

What a wonderful birthday mom is approaching. Spent a luncheon at a party for a lady who is 99 tomorrow. She is a delight and we knitted her an afghan...I made the card, and brought a tiara for her to wear. She being a good sport, did! Is as sharp as a tack and shared some memories with us gals. She use to unravel all our yarn at the knitting group, and was great at it.

I am sure the nightgown will be lovely, and you will figure out the pattern.

Hoping to get the house spiffed up for the New Year. Not digging deep until next week. Will put some of the items I have out for decorations away, and decide if I am keeping some of the others over the weekend.

Have a gathering of the neighbors to go to tonight.

Yesterday, I managed to get that nightgown made for my mother. Hopefully she will like it! Until recently, Mom was better at sewing for herself than I was. No matter how hard I try, she's had more sewing experience than me!

I walked to her house and got the things she wanted. The walk gave me about 30 min of mild exercise - win win.

I was planning on going to visit Mom today but until the highways department clears the highway, I'm not leaving home! A snow fall last evening left the highways in this area "snow covered with icy and slippery patches". I'd rather be safe than sorry!

I'll keep checking the highway report online and do a few small tasks around my home. Today is going to be a "wing it day" with no set list.

Darlene: that reminds me of when my Mom bought some nice flannel nightgowns for my DGM and she wouldn't wear them. So she gave them to me and I wore them for years!

thank you Mary and Diana ~ i don't have the heart to tell you that I forgot to mention my good friend whose brother's funeral was the 23rd and another friend's Dad's was on Tues. I had met the brother but not the Dad...

Today i need to get ready for our get together. As a host I need to think of those extras that we might need... (we're getting together in a hunting lodge in the next town)

I did good and did the work before I left to go to the store.
Unfortunately I am fighting a sore throat, and decided to call the hostess for tonight's gathering and cancel going. Took some meds and resting. Had some coupons that needed to be used by tomorrow which came to $70, and didn't want to loose that!
Came home and took some meds and went to bed. Going to do that again.
