Well, I heard yesterday that all our possible guests will be coming on the 26th and I am glad. I want to see them after such a long time away.

Did more wrapping, made the Mars Bar Squares yesterday evening, then made the doll quilt for the cradle. Made some yogurt this morning, stripped the bed and remade it, washed hair. Time to catch up after enforced rest.

I have an incredible amount of work to do. (Like most of you?) Laundry for a start. I opened the washer this morning and was shocked to find some spun towels in it! Goodness knows how long they had been there. This business of avoiding prime time for hydro is annoying. I bet I was leaving them until after 7pm one day before loading the dryer, which is a heavy consumer. Anyway I put them into a rinse cycle. They didn't smell musty, so they are fine. I've done two more loads since and about to start the bedlinen.

House desperately needs cleaning! Thinking of a band-aid job and then a thorough cleaning on Friday. It seems to me that there are very few days between organisation and chaos, a week at the most, right? A sobering thought. : )

Yesterdays grocery shopping was just a start. Will avoid freezing rain today and brave the crowds tomorrow. Still have a couple of presents to buy, and mince pies and tortiere to bake. Bought prepared crusts for the latter.

Well, back to the laundry. Hang in there, my GONer friends!

What needs to be done, always seems to get done, I find since coming to GON eons ago! Will you remember in 5 years what you didn't do? I can't.

Just enjoy your family and friends and the holiday. They can pitch in and help too!

Mailed the cards I finished, after DS2 asked me to take him to the car repair place. Also picked up something I saw for DD1's birthday and wanted to get it before they are gone. It is kind of a joke.

Things are falling into place very well. So glad we are all pitching in to cook for Christmas eve. What a blessing for me this year along with not purchasing gifts for everyone!

bushlady ~ I think you're right ~ there are only a few days btwn organization and chaos.... the nice part about being a GONer is that it doesn't take as long to get it back to the way it was ~ I do find that it takes a lot longer to get that thinking ~ I am still easily overwhelmed and then when I get down to it, it doesn't take nearly as long as I imagined...

Yes Maureen, having those luncheons early in the month, got the house decorated, some dinner put into the freezer for busy days,
joining the grab bag this year, and not decorating like I did in the past has made a world of difference. Oh, I didn't bake either. Will do that after the new year, and send the goodies on for Valentine's day I think.

Today:
Routines and ETEing
Crocheting group
Bring wrappings downstairs, put away
Clean another drawer

Been trying to read back issues of a couple of booklets I get so I can pass them on. Taking magazines and some of the booklets and a couple of calendars I received to pass on at the Center.
Someone will take them.

Have a great day

I'm back! And the count down to Christmas is on! I have today and tomorrow to see how much I can get accomplished on my Christmas prep list. By keeping at it, I can probably get quite a bit done. And whatever does not get done, will not get done.

Yesterday I managed to do a major bun baking project. I now have more than 12 doz "on hand" to serve for eating and for Christmas presents for our adult children. In addition, I did some of the kitchen and LR PUPA project. I'll keep at the PUPA in baby steps.

For today and tomorrow my list looks like this -
- paint FR walls and ceiling with DH
- go to bank and grocery store
- prep for sticky cinnamon buns and other baking projects
- clean out fridge
- laundry
- bake cinnamon buns (1 "batch"), angel food cake (from a mix), and banana choc chip muffins
- finish wrapping presents
- more PUPA in LR and kitchen
- usual daily ETE
- fill, run and empty d/w as needed
- other projects?
