Have decided that this whole house cleaning job will be finished by New Year's eve, wanting to start the new year with a clean house. Busy last few days as SO's sister got admitted to hospital and had a total of 3 surgeries in 48 hours to remove blood clots that formed in both legs. She is fine now but still in hospital til late Friday. At least she will be home for the weekend. Her fiance has been on vacation this week and camped out with her.

My plan for today and tomorrow between working, is to get as much finished as I can. I won't take down the tree or decorations til next week, so the plan is to go room by room.

Made a trip to IKEA yesterday and picked up and under-the-sink cabinet that just slides in place to corral the cleaning supplies in the powder room that have been on the floor. Cost $29 and I put it together in about a half hour, then cleaned the room and put it in place....1 room done.

This morning I have already done the master bedroom, and cleaned and reorganized the bulk of the kitchen after SO and his buddy installed my new over the range microwave(black friday sale only cost me $98 instead of the normal $350)...and the installation cost was a couple of beers and the use of my garage to do a couple of brake jobs for his buddy's wife and sons cars.

Taking hopefully 30 mins to quick clean guest room, living and dining rooms, then will give a full sweep of the house and take another 30 minutes to do the main bath and then will end up in the office for the rest of the day.

After work tomorrow, will work on whole house mopping.....love having all solid surface floors that can be done with my murphy's oil soap and a bucket of hot water....and love the smell it leaves in the house too.

Unfortunately my dining room table has been a gathering place of all things these last few days so I hope to spend this weekend clearing it off so I can start the new month and new year off with it clean.

I also have a few items that I need to return so I hope to get those out of this room sometime next week.

I never got around to mailing any holiday cards out which are on the dining room table so I am either going to mail some or put them away til next year. blush I think I will still mail out a few as I did get some pictures reprinted to send so I will do those and not worry about the others.

You have been at that dining room forever! Get it done once and for all! I feel so sorry for you, you need to stop having distractions and go for it! We'll cheer you on, one babystep at a time. Are you game? Hoping to finish up my basement! We are two of a kind! LOL

My undecorating will be my first project for ROTM this year,
along with the basement.....and then I can move on to declutter the rest of the house. It works out well doing the basement (FINALLY, right Turn it up) as some of the decorations are stored there.

Good morning, all!

Sorry I have been a bit lax in posting, but with the visiting cousins here, the days have been busy and my time has not been my own!

Well, I dropped off my cousins at the home of the next relative who will be hosting them, yesterday. Took the evening off to relax, and didn't do any housework.

Today, I want to give the whole house a quick once over and get the laundry done. Would really like to have the house clean and tidy for the new year.

House has had a once over, the last of the no-longer-dirty laundry is in the dryer and unfortunately, the office is still needing love. Not upset because the rest of the house is good. Took the leftover pork from Christmas and it has been on low in the crock pot for a day and a half. Added garlic, just drained it out and shredded it, added bbq and we have many pulled pork sandwiches ready to heat up. Will bag it individually and freeze for later.

Christmas decor will come down on next day off, wednesday. Spent a few hrs after work at dr as I strained a muscle in my wrist(workman's comp as it happened at work). I am fine, just have to wear this stupid brace to support it while it heals.

Had to be at work at 4am today so going for a nap now before we go out for the evening with some friends

Have a safe and happy new year everyone!

Glad the company left, and you actually relaxed! I did that on Christmas eve....went to bed and cleaned on Christmas.

Sorry about your wrist. Glad you are okay.

Happy New Year all!
