You both are doing great, BL and Waterlady! Inspiring me, and I keep mentally disposing of the christmas items I decided NOT to use this year. Books that I don't need anymore to sell at half price books in the new year, and too many magazines that can be recycled.

I am mentally disposing lots more too, I hope 2012 we have this same challenge again. There is still so much stuff I realize I am never going to use again, most of my "stuff" was family related for holidays, etc.

I'm a "flinging fool". ROFL!

DD decluttered some of her things last night and tossed:

1 purse
1 "banana" clip hair holder
10 misc. hair accessories

I sorted through a stack of papers and tossed:

3 auto club magazines
1 holiday gift catalog
1 grocery bag full of paper

= 17 items (yes, I'm claiming DD's tossings!)

520 + 17 = 537 items tossed

Waterlady, I think we can arrange a Toss 2012 in 2012! I may even change the name of our thread to that! I think it will be great for all of us!

Bless, if you count dd's tossing (I don't blame you a bit!) I'll count dgd's tossing yesterday....although I don't have numbers, but she tossed a number of shirts and pants, most into the donation bag, a couple of awful condition ones into the trash. I'll have to get a count and post it.

I've been rather focused on a medical issue and long term treatment lately so haven't focused on tossing at all....lots of info to absorb and planning for treatment...it's keeping me pretty busy and focused. I plan on getting back into the tossing tho.....don't want to let that go!

Bonnie and Bless, definitely count their tossing in your totals....it is stuff in your house that is leaving permanently....that definitely counts!!! When SO moved in here, we started going through his things too and I am definitely counting that in my recent totals because every single item takes up space

My tossing for the past 2 days has left me looking forward to going back to work, even though I am still sick. Went to dr yesterday and am "tossing" 2 kinds of meds in this body to get well. Have a holiday get tegether to go to after work Sunday and want to feel better for that.

Found out that not only did I need the filling(done) but the root canal I have been postponing due to cash flow can no longer wait.....so can I count $500 out the door next week to tossing??? just kidding.

Did work in the office for most of the last 2 days, and was a tossing fool. Managed to toss several magazines without looking through them, 6 books to donate pile, lots of papers and envelopes, junk mail, and other things.....I am putting 150 as the number, having filled 2 trash cans but its really more like 600. I am getting more and more focused on what to keep. Just wish I would do it when I get it instead of looking at it 12 times before decideing what to do!

1997 items tossed.
14 items to find, but I have a lot of items on Ebay so even if they are not sold the will be gone by the end of the year

Doing great Karen. I won't make the 2011, but did pretty good, so that is okay. Will have much more next year I am sure.

Would you ever think we could toss that many items? It astounds me that I got rid of this many items so far. And I am really looking forward to the 2012 challenge as well.
