Karen....Thanks for sharing the photo! Love those shirts!
DD was sick all Thanksgiving - like miserably sick. She spent most of the day in her room, but did come down to eat dinner with everyone. She didnt' enjoy it because she couldn't taste anything. Then, she cuddled up on the couch under her special quilt. And.......gave her germs to all of us (DS, his girlfriend and my parents). Now, we're all sick!
I had planned to get the tree up and the house decorated for Christmas over the weekend, but I planted myself on the couch and pretty much didn't move for 2 days. I had to go back to work yesterday, good thing I work from home. I was supposed to meet with families this week, but I'm cancelling them so that I don't pass this nasty bug on to any of them. DD is feeling better, but she still sounds awful. Every single time she gets a cold she ends up with bronchitis, and it hangs on and on and on.
So....I have pretty much nothing to report other than that. Oh, and I didn't cry on Thanksgiving which kind of surprised me. Not quite sure that is a goal on my goal's list because one can't really put a deadline on the grieving process. I'm having a lot more good days though in regards to that so that's a good thing! I'm trying to keep it all in perspective and not turn him into some sort of an idol because he died. Even if some of the things he did might have been caused by the sugar spikes from diabetes, he nevertheless did do some horrible things to us, and we are still having to heal from those as well, no matter what the cause.
While lounging on the couch, I ordered a wool coat for DD for Christmas. I've wanted to get her one for a couple of years, but she always said she didn't like them. Then, at one of the football games last month, she was cold and borrowed my coat. She's hooked, and requested one for Christmas. I found a wonderful deal in a pretty pinkish color for her that she really liked. I sure hope that it fits her once it gets here.
I also spent plenty of time browsing craft sites looking for inspiration for gifts to make. I'm slow at it this year, but I'm sure it will all come together and if it doesn't, everyone will understand. I've got WAY too many ideas and just not enough crafting time. (Is there EVER enough crafting time? I don't think so!)
I'm headed to make yet another pot of chicken noodle soup and then to pull up the couch for another evening.
