It's so easy to get behind with the paperwork ~ esp with summer/back to school/vacation etc.

I was able to:
*catch up on my CC statements
*make headway on DH's CC statements (went through 7 baggies of reciepts)
*shred
*file
*org this year's school binders
*file this years' school papers
*fill out some forms to take back to school
*delete ~ 75 emails

I'll be back at it tomorrow if you want to join me then!

How did you do Kimberly?

Ended up going out to run some errands but I did just come back, enter all receipts in quicken, balanced my checkbook, paid the mortgage and my Amex bill. So not bad, huh?

You did a great job!

It's funny talking about things you may or may not need down the road. My folks have been dead now for 36 and 32 years. My sister has decided she wants to have them moved from where they are at to a location closer to home(the current location has become a real very unsafe area even in daylight) so she can "visit" them more often. Personally I don't see the point of the expense, but that is her call. She has the ridiculous amount of money(about $20k) they want to do the moves(DD,DM & DB). The thing is, I handled both dad and moms affairs and still have the records over 30 years later. Both cemetaries need documentation from the original burials and if I didn't have them, they would be charging her an additional several hundred dollars for researching and providing them to her. Did I ever think I owuld need them? No, but having them has been a plus.

Now once my office papers are done and the new biz info is set up and organized, I plan to start the scanning of the years of real estate related papers I have in the laundry/storage room, about 25 or more bankers boxes. Since I have a scanner, I may as well put it to use. Everything in its own time.

I scanned and saved all of the documents from my father's death - certificate of cremation, etc which I can't imagine ever needing but at least it's sitting there in my computer.

Tossed a BUNCH of papers this week. Just stuff in my drawers that was sitting there. Coupons I clipped, receipts I didn't need, etc.

Seems like a good project for today. I hope to get rid of a bunch more.
