Oh Carol I was so sad to read about how R's health has deteriorated so quickly. I am so glad you and DD were able to speak to a counsellor about everything that has happened. I will pray for you all and I hope the panic attacks cease soon. Take care and (((HUGS))).

Simplicity - Thank you like you say some people are just determined to be negative. I try not to take it personally, but some days it is hard. I hear you on the visiting because you feel obligated too. Things are improving with a little distance. Thank you for your prayers and I will be praying for you while you undergo your treatment in the coming weeks. Take it easy and rest as much as you can.

Nothing to report on goals for me. I am just checking in and encouraging my fellow goners along just as they do with me. Have a good Sunday all!

Carol - I'm so sorry your life has become so dramatic. I think it was helpful to find out R had undiagnosed diabetes which caused the stroke. Otherwise you might be forever wondering what struck him. All the best to you and DD during these terrible days.

Bubblegum:
Just teasing about the painting. I don't paint, as I don't do well with painting....I hope your friend appreciates your time and talent!

Thank you to everyone!

R passed away this morning at 6:45 a.m. When his brothers called to tell me, I told them that I already knew. At just about that same time, an amazing sense of something came over me, even though I was 50 miles away from him physically. I don't know exactly what to call it, not exactly a peace or a calmness, just a knowing that he was no longer suffering here in his body and that he was free from the evil demons that at times consumed his life and came out as abuse towards those that he loved and loved him.

I was the last one that he made any type of communication with when he let go of my hand that final time when I told him that I loved him. I'm so glad that DD and I got the chance to say goodbye to him while he knew that it was us.

I will cherish the good memories that I have from the past 10 years that I spent with him, as there were many.

I'm pretty exhausted now, but I will begin anew with my goal of "Reclaiming My Life" in a few days, only with a totally different perspective.

Carol, accept our deepest sympathies, words are inadequate at such a sad time.
