I finally got the wood cut and was able to make the shelves. I even did it myself with only me neighbor putting in two screws. It sure wouldn't win a beauty contest but painted it looks better. Tomorrow I'll get shelf paper and be able to load it up.

I talked to SonIL and he agrees that I should just get a new CPU. So I'm going to be without a computer for while. I'll try to post so no one will get worried. Or at least try until the laptop goes back.

We're using my car to go to Texas in so I need to clean it up and get all the blankets out of the trunk. I was also told I'd be driving. DD wants to sleep like that's going to happen with a 2 year old. I sure hope this trip goes ok. It's so hot.

I'm thinking about how I want to decorate for the party. Thinking I might do it kind of like a New Year's party but with wine. Any ideas?

Right now I'm worn out. working in the garage in the heat tires and old lady out.

You did great! Glad to hear your shelves are up and ready for use.

Have a safe trip to TX and enjoy the ride. At least you can trade off with DD for driving if you get tired. Have fun!

When is the party? New Year's eve sounds like a good theme, Christmas in JULY? That would go along with the tree decoration. Hard to plan from so far away.

Going to do at least a babystep today.

Diana the party is the 16th. Planning this trip to TX wasn't the best timing condering all that is going on but what the heck!

I got shelf paper and in the new cabinet is all my baking supplies from cake mixes to brown sugar in lock-n-locks labeled nicely. I can't put the sugar and flour in there because I brought home over 20 lbs. of flour and more than that in sugar from parents house. It's in a box under a kitchen bench.

I used the other cabinet to put all my pasta and stuff like that together. I really plan on getting all that used up. If it eI ver gets cooler I'll cook up some meals for the freezer.

I moved my food proccessor so I can reach it. Right now I'm pretty proud of what I've done in there. I am looking for me canning jars but I must have donated them. Not a big deal. I can save some other jars for what I want.

I filled up the car and had it washed and emptied the trunk. I had been storing quilts in there. I am hoping DD might take one or two of them.

I probably need to go in and start packing. I'm afraid we will disppoint my MIL with this trip. She can't seem to understand we want to shop too. Mainly shop! That sounds means but we can only take so much of SIL and MIL together

Think I will go pack. It's so hot. Doesn't matter. Trip is on!

Glad you are taking some time to shop. Invite MIL/SIL and if they don't come that is their choice!

Sounds like you did fantastically!

Pulled something today while straightening out one of the laundryoom cabinets, so had to rest the rest of the day! I admit it I'm a wimp~

Hi all,

Cleaned up a little bit here in the living room this morning. Also had a good long talk with a close friend in Central California as well. Going to try to get some other work done in here as well.

Chef and Diana, yes I have come a long way. The biggest for me is that this house was to be cared for with two incomes which would have given me the ability to save. Right now the income will pay all the bills, but saving, even for retirement is not an option. There are still so many homes so cheap around here it is frustrating. 5 houses down from me is a home for half of what I paid for mine. It does not have a basement and only has a 2 car garage, but does have more updates and a detached inlaw suite, so on the whole, is pretty comparable space wise.

And loooking at some of the stuff out there, if I could unload this just for what I owe, I could go into something similar sized for half the money and half the payment and believe me, that would make life a lot easier, and I would be able to start saving again.

Took the weekend off and had fun at an all day and nite grad party on Sat so spent Sunday taking it easy. Even had DB with me Sat nite, and DBF so it was a fun time.

A new week and new progress will happen as DBF has his son full time for the next 2 weeks so I am gonna take time for my projects. Off to work now.

Had a great time in TX shopping and visiting. She was so happy to see us. MIL is lonely being in the county and used to a big city but she does seem to love it there. I also got a lot of neat things for a great price.

Of course now I'm paying for it with DM. She is jeoulous me going to see MIL and thinks she can bully me into stuff I said I couldn't do this week. I'm not going to let her. I have a right to have a life!!!

This will be the last time I post until I get a new computer. I'm turning in my laptop today. Hopefully I can order a new one in a few days after my guy tells me what to buy.

No, I did not get finished with June's ROTM! Better but not finished.

June was super busy and even most of this month will be. I have a good friend who's DH died of cancer on Father's Day. He was only 50 and she is 42. I had figured out he did most everything and I went and helped her last week. I am glad I can put what I have learned here to use with her. Maybe I don't always practice it, (LOL)but I actually was able to help. Will be going back every now and then to see what I can do. She's such a sweetheart!

I also went away for the weekend to stay with my aunt and uncle near Memphis. She and I came back towards this way on Saturday and went to the family reunion. Had so much fun. I didn't get home until late Sunday so needless to say, I am quite behind in lots of things.

Oh, and I did paint my hallway Thursday. It looks SO good! Used the same color as my LR and it flows so well. Now to get the upstairs stairwell done and the upstairs hallway. Any painting is on hold right now.

So, little by little I will work on the office/scrapbook room. It's nice already to have plenty of walking space!

I actually did get downstairs yesterday for two babysteps.
Got some presents put into a container, and broked down some boxes for mailing that I will need at Christmas. Don't want to have too many, but can use what I have.

This morning, I did my DESK DAY bill paying and straightened out the pantry. Broke down boxes and put the items in the containers in the cabinet in the kitchen (cereals, etc.)
