SCanning and digital storage (such as Kindles) is becoming more and more popular. I'm wondering, how do you keep track of what you have stored digitally and does it work for you?

I keep a list of books I have on my Kindle at all time. I delete them once I've read them. There is tons of room on there but I'm OCD.

I also name files so simply that I could never forget them. I use the name of the person, the date, the topics, etc. I can always search my computer and find what I'm looking for.

The only real "digital" storage I have, if they count, is documents on my computer and on some flash drives. On the computer, I have folders for different types of documents. The flash drives are labeled by content, such as "taxes," "Toastmasters," "info" (general things), and so forth. I have a flash drive, as well, for photos taken by my brother. I hope to master a digital camera at some point, and will store photos on the computer, with backup on flash drives. I still like to look at pictures not on a screen (almost necessary if you are sharing them with friends and family), so may print some of those out.

Simplicity - I am the same not much is stored on my computer. At 35 you think I would be more computer savvy. Although I am better than I used to be as I didn't own a home computer until I was 30. All my photos are on the computer, but like you I print a selection out for my albums. I love looking through the albums and seeing my family history laid out before me. They are mainly stored on the computer so they can be shared online and as a back up in case something happened to the albums.
