Waterlady, glad you are ok. What a scary experience! We were supposed to get severe weather here, but luckily it didn't hit.

Woke up this morning to an open front door and one of the dogs missing. Guess the wind from last night pushed the door open (wasn't locked). What a way to start out the day, but turns out the scaredy dog was hiding in the house.

Not much going on here...went for a walk in the neighborhood with DS after work and saw all the neighborhood cats. Ate dinner and snacking now. Have to hit the sack in another 30 min. and back to work tmorrow. Going to a work event tmorrow night. DH has the day off tmorrow so he's planning on doing alot in the yard.

IT'S OVER!!! And it was AMAZING!!! The kids did a FANTASTIC job with the musical! Sure we had some hiccups, but we got through and had a great time doing it!

Now to bed, then up early to return some risers to the local High School. Back home for a video chat with Linda. Still trying to decide if I want to take the girls and hit a city wide sale tomorrow, or see about going on Saturday. Will talk with DH about it!

Nite all! Thanks for praying!!

Congrats Wendy!

Taking a break from THE wedding, isn't she the prettiest thing!! So glad the weather held out!

Woke up with one eye swollen, too much paperwork the last week, hoping the swelling goes down before I have to leave, been keeping a hot cloth on it this morning.

Have to get to the bank first thing this morning. Am waiting for "the kiss" before I leave!

Phichef - Very glad your ok and stay safe.

Waterlady - Im glad you and Finn made it through Ok. I suggest you a kit together - they are called Bug Out Bags - for these emergencies. The US Red Cross sell them I believe, its hopeless here in the Uk, no one sells anything like that.

When we had the great storm in the 80s, it sounded very much like a train and that was just the tail end of a hurricane.

Try cucumber slices or cold teabags on those eyes.

Dianaro - Yep I watched all the coverage, a whole 5 hours! Wasnt her dress just gorgious.

Today Iv done absolutely nothing! smile

Purdy - I have done nothing too. I watched all the coverage then the news which basically just had the highlights of the wedding on. It was wonderful and I teared up when he turned to Kate in the Abbey and told her she looked beautiful. Did you notice that? The Duke of Edinburgh and Harry made me chuckle too they are so mischievious goodness knows what they were saying to Kates sister to make her giggle on the balcony at the palace.

Waterlady - So glad you are safe sounds like a very frightening experience.

Wendy - Glad it went well

Nothing else to report from me. I have been far too busy admiring our newest addition to the Royal family and of course the rest of our Royals. A lovely day! Night ladies.

Waterlady:
So glad you were okay. DD1 (who was in one last year) said it sounded more like a jet's engine than a train. So glad you are okay. It is scarey!

Karen:
She looked beautiful! Her dress and crown were old fashioned looking to me and I liked that. She seems like a lovely gal, and they look so in love. I just saw the vows, and her dress so far, had to leave and frankly, am tired of hearing all the "experts" discussing all sorts of stuff, so will watch it this evening, I believe most of the stations are replaying it all.

The only thing I expected her to have more bridesmaids, and not all those children participating. They said that there was myrtile in her bridal bouquet that was from a bush from Queen Victoria's bouquet that was planted from her bouquet!

Love that I can sit and watch it now tonight and relax.

Wendy:
WHOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I knew it would be fun and great and the kids would come thru for you. Great going !

Hello everyone, Hope everyone is doing well and that everyone is safe.

I really enjoyed the wedding today. I couldn't believe how elegant, classic, and modern Kate managed to look all at the same time.

We are having a late spring storm this weekend (rain tonight, turning to freezing rain and then a ton of snow and wind). How is that even possible at the end of April? I could cry.

I haven't gotten much done in the last couple days other then the bare necessities.

Diana and Tina - Yes I loved the dress too and of course it was from a protegee of the late Alexander McQueen one of the UK's best designers so it was bound to be wonderful. The myrtle has been in every brides bouquet since Victoria's wedding (something old)and yes it is from a cutting from her bouquet how traditional is that? I love it. The tiara Kate wore the Queen loaned to her (something borrowed).

I don't know if you know this but did you see the headstone at the front of the abbey well that is an unnamed soldier who was repatrioted after the Great war (world war 1) and buried within the abbey. I am pretty sure that is where Kate will place her bridal bouquet as our Queen and royal brides have done so since with few exceptions. No flowers or indeed anything are allowed to be placed on it usually as that soldier represents all the soldiers that lost their lives for our country, so it is an honour for her to do so and also a great sign of respect to our armed forces.

I know what you mean about the over analysis. Last night on the news they talked about the dress, then they showed the ceremony, then went back to talking about the dress. I could watch the ceremony and balcony scene at the palace over and over, but I don't need a team of so called "fashion" experts to tell me she looked wonderful and the cut of the dress suited her I could see that myself.

Well I am up early and just tidying the ground floor so I will be back to report my progress.

Karen and Purdy, I don't know why you weren't there!! I would have driven a few hours to get there if I lived in your country!

It was such an uplifting thing to watch! I watched it again this morning (well there is nothing else on tv again here in NY!) I thought the Aston Martin departure was great!! I was surprised at her dress and short veil, (although I loved it) kept thinking of Diana's enormous train, etc.

Unfortunately, I only heard once about the description of the three (?) symbols on the dress itself, making it even more historical in my opinion. (were they flowers representing three countries?)

I got to the accountant. I am so glad I found this guy. He was full of advice. I feel totally comfortable with him.

This morning I need to gather more figures from this current year for him, and fax it over. So I still have paper work to do.

Was able to vacuum the LR, DR and Kitchen (desperately needed it, Finn is shedding so much) before I left. Went through another pile of mail and filled the kitchen garbage. My office is getting under control paper wise now that I got the taxes out of here.

My eye is still swollen, I have been using hot compresses which takes the swelling down.

Mom's floors are done, they look gorgeous. I have to spend some time over there this weekend, still have a bit of the basement floor to finish, then start cleaning the dust up from sanding the floors. I bought a huge pack of microfiber cloths, and I have a large swiffer I can put them on to dust the walls with. It shouldn't take too long to do. And the guy is coming today to pick up the car, so that will be out of mom's driveway.

Tinytina, can't believe you are expecting snow!

Waterlady - I have bad health and cant walk that far, nor breath in that level of pollution so it was out for me. I did get to watch it on TV twice smile

Have you tried hot and cold compresses on the eye, one takes the swelling down while the other takes away the pain.

Iv done nothing again today. I did find my Dads glasses he lost about two weeks ago.

Iv set up a mic, and joined the old chat forum I used to use to practice Japanese. I want to get the alphabet sounds down really well, as I feel accent is very important.
