With the new boss, I want to be the best available resource to him. What would be some good resources for me to keep updated on procedures, etc ... as an administrative assistant??

Lori-If you do a search on adminstrative assistant publications, there are a number of newsletters & e-zines available. Some of them are free.

There are a few books available on this topic - at least I saw them at workshops a few years ago. You might try one of the online book services (are we allowed to mention names?).

Lannoe, as I think I mentioned on another thread a while back, there is no substitute for ASKING the boss for ways in which he thinks you can be most helpful - and that could change over time. Maybe you could print out his schedule each day, or be sure all his expenses are promptly logged and reimbursed. You could also make suggestions - "would it save you time if I did X? Give it a try.

See if he can suggest any trainings for you to attend to become even better at your job than you already are.
