Hey does this mean we're all making good progress? Hope so! DD and I went through her closet today. We filled two big bags with clothes and toys and such, and we have a pile of books to donate to the library. Her closet looks much better. Next on the list is her dresser drawers. With school starting in a few weeks, this gives us a much better idea of what she needs. Guess I need to start looking for a bedspread for her now. She's using an older one that isn't the color she wants. Just hope I can find one that isn't too expensive. I need DH to go back to work. He's cutting into my sewing time...

Geez Amyp, you are such a good seamstress, you could make a coverlet or spread for her should you not find one that fits in. Just saying........
Picked up a glass to replace the one I broke to put the girl's christening outfit in the shadowbox. I also picked up a smaller shadowbox to put my grandmothers thread, and crochet needle into. Thought it would be interesting art for the walls. The outfit is also in the DDs bedroom I wam working on.

Diana, I could make a duvet cover, that's true. If I can't find a bedspread we can agree on, I suppose I will. It's just not on my list of favorite things to do, and I have so much other stuff to make I don't want to add it to my list. I won't get anything done today. We're off to run errands and go to a movie, provided DD gets her butt in gear and is ready to go on time.

I think it would be easier than shopping, but then again, I hate to shop for things! LOL
Need to work in the bedroom for a babystep later on. Now I am relaxing after a busy, buys sorting type morning.

They've gotten as done as they can without the cabinets and walls painted. I'm getting ready to go get the paint. I'll get that done tomorrow. I get to start cleaning up this afternoon. I'm so glad.
I'm also glad to get back into my bedroom. With them sealing off the room I haven't been able to sleep in there because Sooner wouldn't be able to wake me up to go out at night. The couch is comfortable but it does get old.
I have gotten my wine print framed but can't get the hanger in the frame so I"m going back to HL. I shot a big staple in my hand and I'm tired of fooling with it. Also I've got to to get paint so I'm ready for tomorrow to paint.
I'm tired of running around. When I get home I'm going to clean clean clean. This house is so dirty from them working. The dust has layers on layers.
Oh I am sorry I used this guy. His's work habits have gone down hill. He has worked the last two days but not the others. He had the nerve to ask for the rest of his money but I said not until he was totally finished. He took it but wasn't real happy. I wan't going to get left with a bunch of stuff to do.
Well they should be finished laoding the last of the trash and I can leave. I want to unhooked Sooner from the chain and get busy cleaning.

Work on ROTM is at a stop. Both dogs have suddenly and not nicely started having some serious health issues.....Maxine with lots of breathing trouble and Snoopy with leg strength. He is getting downstairs to sneak food from roomies cat feeder and then cannot get back up the stairs.
Bottom line is that for the past 3 days I have been crying non stop facing what I truly do not want to do, say goodbye to my babies. It does not matter that they are 14 and 13, they are still my babies.I will be taking them into the vet for the final goodbye tonight at 10(personal friend of my roomie and a super considerate guy-he has know her family for years). I know this is the right thing to do, but just cannot stop crying over it. Roomie helped me do multiple pix of me and them together so I would at least have some nice photos for later and they came out nice.....some on the rattan loveseat in the screened porch, some in the front and back yards too.
Right now they are both sleeping at my feet, esp Max as I gave her, her favorite thing in the whole world-kahlua and milk! I think I have relayed in the past that she is a lush at heart!
BF said to pack a bag as I was not allowed to spend tonight or tomorrow here, for which I am thankful. He is also driving me over tonight. I will post more in a few days, when I can see through the puffy eyes.

Beaglelady, I'm so sorry about the dogs. It was a good idea to take the pictures, and you will be glad to have them to look at.
Are you able to post such pictures here?
No pet can ever replace another, but consider getting another dog at some indeterminate point in the future, after you have grieved for Max and Snoopy.

Beaglelady, I'm with Simplicity...once you feel you've grieved, consider another pet. And please take comfort in knowing you've given yours a great life, with lots of love and good care. Nobody lives forever, but that unconditional love from a pet is a precious gift, and the memory of that will, with time, bring you joy. I have been where you are--many of us have--and believe me I know your pain.

BL, I am so sorry you have to make such a sad decision. (((((HUGS)))))) Many of us pet owners have had to make similar decisions, so we've all been there. I'm glad to know you have caring friends who will be there for you.

I think I am just going to have to declare the garden as my ROTM once again and forget about the garage! Too hot to work in the garage and there's no urgency. The garden, on the other hand, needs weeding! Plus, it is cool enough in the evenings to work in the garden and I much prefer gardening to cleaning!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. The past 2 days have been very hard. My new boyfriend had to go through this last week with his dog(his ex had the dog). He suggested using his vet as when I made the decision over the weekend, mine was not available when I wanted it done asap. The vet thought he was coming to my house(NO WAY) and we ended up going to his office about 1030 Tuesday night and was back at his house by 1130.
Snoopy was very easy to do as he took the first shot with no problem. I really believe Maxine knew what was happening as she fought the sleep and would not give in. I held her in my arms and rocked her til she was gone.
Honestly, the only thing harder than this is when I lost my parents. Until I know what will happen job-wise, I will not be planning any new pets. My roomie is suggesting cats....but I am not ready. Today is my first day that I have spent anytime in the house since Tuesday, and the only thing on the list is to wash the bed linen(almost done) remove all their floor pillows(am going to take them to a shelter after washing them) and getting the loveseat vacuumed of all hair and then stripping it and washing the cushion covers, and pillows.
I will also do a once over vacuum before going to the concert tonight.I will catch up with my guy at his house around 5 as he is spending the day with his kids.
thank you again soooo much for your expressions of love.

Beaglelady, I'm so glad you had your guy there to give you support. It's such a hard time.
Worked outside all day today. I cleared out the front rose bed which really, really needed it. I'm whupped now...the humidity is killing me. At any rate, ROTM evaded me, again.

BL: Prayers are with you all! I know I would be lost without any of ours. We have 4 dogs and 2 cats and a horse. Not including the others animals on this property that are not even ours.
=================================
X=I got my Bar that I was waiting on from our friend. It is just outside of the main window so I can use it now for craft stuff and other items that need to be there. Have not decided yet what I am going to be using it all for yet since it lives outside. This way if I want to work outside doing craft work or Computer work all I have to do is switch the monitor to there. I don't even have to unplug the monitor now or keyboard and mouse to do it. HIP HIP HOORAY!
X=Also I have a new card table that way I can put it away when not in use or use it ANYWHERE I please. I can use it inside for playing with my Son and DH or use it outside for Craftwork. And for whatever I please to do with it. HIP HIP HOORAY!
Now I still have to go through all that other stuff that is here that got brought over from our friends since it is all here now.

Beagle I'm so sorry.
I have the bathroom painted. There's a couple of places I need to touch up. It took almost the whole gallon for two coats. I sure hope they don't mess it up to much getting the cabinets in or I'll have to buy more.
I cleaned a lot of the house. I still need to mop the bathroom. Also go over the counter tops in the kitchen but everything is so much better. Granted everything from the bathroom is in the guest room, it's in there neating.
I think I'm ready for the reunion. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. It's been a long time since I saw a lot of these guys. My hair is done and I got my nails done. Of course I've kind of messed one up already.
We're having a luncheon and then I'm coming home and touching up the paint and doing some more cleaning. I have gotten most everything straighten up so that makes it seem better. I will wear rubber gloves to protect my nails.
Well I need to check some things and then it's luncheon time.

Have fun at your luncheon, Cindy. Glad your bathroom is progressing. I don't mind painting but bathrooms and kitchens are tough.
We are cutting trees today so no work on ROTM. I told DH I was NOT waiting till 10 a.m. to get out there and I wasn't working past noon. So it's 7:45 and everyone's up and getting dressed (I'm dressed already). If I can get them downstairs and fed maybe we can start by 8:30. Wish us luck!

Good luck Amyp! Glad you set time limits with the heat there!
Cindy: Have fun at the luncheon and the reunion. Can't wait to hear about both.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ I finished up the room! All neat and tidy and clean. That is a relief.
The next one is going to be my old room, with all the stamps, etc. Need to label drawers and sort thru the new stamps I have purchased. I think a little card making shop could open in there with all that I have! I just did it recently, but not happy with the configuration, hoping to lessen some of it, and redo others. This may be a two month room!
I started by gathering up kits I had or various cards I had started and putting them in individual plastic bags, all together. Now I need to find an area to store those in so they are all together, and I can grab one and make items.
The reunion is so so. The places they chose are to small and there's not good AC which is making it really tough. But there's a group of us hanging together and they're my main friends so it's all great. Hopefully tonight will be better.
I'm waiting now on my friend to come hang the light over the dinning table. I really hope he comes. I'd really like that to be my birthday present to myself.
Oh I sold the ablums to a friend. He was thrilled with them.
Oh the chandelier is hung!!!! It looks so nice. I am going to have to put a medalion around it. Seems there is a gas pipe in the middle of my ceiling? I said this house was old but it's proving to older than I realized.
We got the tree mostly cut up. DH needs a bigger chain saw to tackle the main tree, in addition to a new bar and chain for the one he has. We have 5 or so more trees that have to come down, and renting a bigger chain saw would cost as much as buying. Since there are 60+ trees on the property, it's a safe bet we'll be doing this again.
I'd hoped to get something done this week on DD's room, but once again DH is pre-empting my plans. He intends to get all the trees down this week, even though it's killing his arm today. DSS is coming later this week so I hope he'll be a big help. We'll see. Sometimes he isn't much better than DD at outside work, especially if it's hot (which it is). Even with DSS here I'll still have to help drag and pile branches. So I just don't know.
DH put the laminate on the sewing table tops today. I hear the router so he must be cutting it to size. I'll wait a little while before I go down. I know he wants to have them done before I see them again.
We have inloves coming 8/4 and 8/8. I would love to have everything moved in the room by then. I am anxious to get my new sewing machine. I can finish paying for it this week and then ask for a class before I bring it home.
Oh Frugal, I'm sew excited for you...I do hope you'll post pictures!
I did nothing today except run to the store for a few things. Oh, well, I did make blueberry muffins for breakfast, and then most of our dinner, but really, that was it. Both DH and I were sore and tired from tree-cutting yesterday.
Grocery shopping for real tomorrow, and then I want to clean upstairs. Just dust and vacuum and straighten up, and make sure DD does her bathroom before DSS gets here. Maybe I can get DH to help me make the cornice for DD's room this week. If so I can get it covered pretty quickly. Wish me luck.
Frugal I bet you were a happy girl yesterday after seeing the tops done by DH! WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO Lucky you.
Amyp: Goodness that sounds like so much work. Do you have a cart that could hook on to the tractor? That would help with the branch work, wouldn't it? That is what my neighbor does to gather things up. She helped me with some of my branches that way, and we rode them up to the end of the drive. Just saying.....
I sympathize with you for all the outside work you all have done. Hoping DSS helps out.
Started sorting the stamps. It will be a big job! I had done it previously, but have added more and want to donate some I guess. Hoping to finish up some of the kits I have (4, I believe) and a couple of cards I like and then stop for awhile. Card overload! LOL
Not going into a show this year. Learned my lesson, and would rather make and give them away as gifts. The time sitting during the shows is fun, but not worth the amount of money I made. So I would rather read and go out to lunch instead! LOL
OMG I had fun Saturday at the reunion. So many of my old classmates that I wanted to see showed up. We had a great evening. We all want to do it in a month but doubt that we will. We were all so tired Sunday it was unreal. We're to old for all this partying.
Sunday I went to DD and DGS was sso happy to see me. He even made me a picture for my classroom. I visited with them and then went and did some shopping before my class at PB. I don't really like going to the evening classes so unless I have to I'll keep going to the morning ones.
Today I couldn't mow since we got a ton of rain last night so I cleaned the garage. I'm not finished but it's a lot better. I'll wait until they are totally out and I'll finish it up.
Tomorrow I'll bomb the house and go to school and work. Then I can come home and do what I need to. I did get my shelf at PB and I'm going to try and hang it. I don't want to try this evening because of all the gas I've had today. I really don't think it's a good idea.
I've made my list of goodies to serve Thursday at book club. I'll fix some Wednesday and the rest Thursday. Still deciding on the wines to serve.
Well I think I'll have ice cream for dessert. Still numb some so don't want to over do.
Glad you had a good time at the reunion Cindy! I hope you can meet again. That is always so much fun.
Hoping you are feeling okay after the dentist yesterday. I am assuming that with the gas you said you had (laughing gas?) and being numb. I missed if you said that.
What are you reading in book club?
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Worked on a couple more drawers for organizing the stamps. I sure wish the bedroom was where the breakfast room is! LOL The light is wonderful and faces south the bedroom faces north. Hey, at least I have a place to put the items, right? Will do a few more drawers today.

Oh Diana I had the shots and gas. I just came home and slept. The numbing did take forever to go away so I had to touch it out and have chocolate/peanut butter ice cream for supper.
Our book for the month is the Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. I've really liked it. I want to read the other two the guy wrote.
I went to school today and worked since3 I was bugging the house. I hung my new pictice by DGS. Just makes my room. I still can't get my desk set up the way I want it because they haven't moved my computer and also I can't move my desk. Hopefully they will do it soon. I do need to get some more containers for the new file drawers since it has a top drawer. I'll go out another day and work some more.
I also picked up my reunion pictures and the prom picture. Now I need more frames. I'll get them when I shop for groceries. I think I will go ahead and get groceries tomorrow after my meeting. It'll be early enough there won't be many people at Wal Mart.
This evening I'm meeting a bunch of my faimly for dinner to celebrate my birthday. Should be fun.

Cindy Happy Birthday now or belated! Sounds like fun. You sound very busy and ambitious. Too cute about DGS making you a picture, I love that.
Will have to check out the book, it sounds interesting.

Hi all,
Sorry I don't have pics up yet but I have been extremely busy and having minor computer problems already! GRRRRRRR!!! Sometimes I can stay on without problems othertimes I can't even seem to get on or it keeps kicking me off the net.
Anyway Next week my DS is heading on a camping trip so I am trying to help him get ready for that. He is going to Northern CA. Close to where we used to live. So we will be having a kid free time for 5 days.

The house is clean and I've fixed way to much for book club tonight. Two dips, two finger sandwhiches type of stuff, pinapple, fresh baked cookies, and all the stuff to drink. three wines to chose from and pop and flavored water. There really isn't that many of us but I couldn't stop once I started. Oh well I'll eat on it.
I got the shelf up over the TV. Really looks nice. I'm glad I spent the money and got the one from PB. It cost more but it's so worth it.
Tomorrow I'm going out to school and do some work. It would be so nice if they have moved my computer and fixed my desk and files where they belong but I don't have a lot of faith that it's done. I'll just make do the best I can until them.
Well better start getting things ready for book club.

Book club is over and everything in the dishwasher. I'll run it later. Of course there is a lot of left overs so I'm probably going to take them to school tomorrow and we'll eat them for lunch. They did like the champange I chilled to celebrate ,y birthday.
I do need to organzie my wine glasses. I got a set of dozen that can go either white or red for parties and I want to set some out. The other's I'll keep in their box for parties. The buffett in the family room just need things arranged better in it.
Right now I think I will call it quits for the evening. I didn't realize I was so tired but I am. Also the wine has relaxed me plenty.

Cindy: Happy Birthday! You are a wonderful hostess, indeed! Wish I lived closer - I'd have helped you eat some of the leftovers! I am feeling bad about my lack of participation in the ROTM! I picked the garage, but it got hot and I didn't do anything. Even when it cooled off a bit, I didn't do anything in the garage. HOWEVER, I did work in the garden: weeding and pruning. AND we rearranged DD's bedroom: switched bookcases (took out her small bookcase and brought in the taller bookcase from the office/crafts room, redid her closet, put the bedside table in the closet and set up another new bookcase (now there are 3 bookcases in her room!) AND I did a few things in the 3rd room (office/crafts/guest room): took the tall bookcase out (taken to DD's room) and brought in her small bookcase instead. Redid the crafts closet (put the stash of fabric back into the fabric suitcase, made room to store DD's sleeping bag and duffle bag in the closet, as well as extra blankets and quilt from her bed). So, I guess I can say I had a roving ROTM, in July! I still want to do a few more things in the office/crafts room over the weekend - I put aside 50 of DD's books that she has out-grown into the donations and that freed up one shelf in the bookcase. I want to see if my binders will fit on that shelf.

~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sorted thru some more stamps and think I am done with them. I also gathered up the various holiday boxes and have those all marked and sorted! YEA~
Ok so much for a nice laid back evening. DM called after I had gotten to bed for half hour and needed taken to the hospital. So I ended up in the ER with DM all night. Seems she has a blockage somewhere from the stomach down. They hope it's from past surgeys and cn be fixed with out surgey. Anyway I didn't get any sleep until this afternoon and only a couple at that. So I plan on going to bed pretty soon.
I did get the buffett rearranged. Since most of the glasses were in the dishwasher it only took a few minutes. They were out anyway so this was when to do it.
