Since they are coming Tuesday to gut the bathroom that is going to be my ROTM. Probably will go into August depending when they get finished, I am really excited about. I want them in and out and I know that won't happen. Oh well.....

While they're here I have some crafts I want to get. I have a tray I want to put wine labels on. I have everything so I can start whenever.

Also I have my dress for the reunion that needs hemmed. I want to get everything I'm going to wear that weekend ready. I don't want any last minute surprises.

I finally got rid of my TV and cabinet. I called and they will deliever my new cabinet tomorrow afternoon. I'm not sure when I'm going to have the TV delievered. Right now I'm using a 12" and it's not enjoyable. After I get the cabinet I might move in the 19". I'm thinking I should wait on the new TV until they gut and rewall the bathroom since it's next to it.

Hopefully I can get a couple od day trips this month. After the 4th I'm going to contact my friends and set it up.

Hope every has a fun and safe 4th. I have decided I'm not going to decorate for the 4th again unless I'm having company. I have pretty decorations but it's a total waste.

Finally--finally my game room is finished! I am posting photos to show off a little bit. grin
[img:left][/img]
This shows my sewing corner. It's about as neat as it gets.
[img:left][/img]
DH and DD's desks, behind the couch.
[img:left][/img]
Due to organizing and tossing, I actually have excess shelf space...don't know how to act!! grin Notice all the lights? It takes 4X as much light to sew as to read.

New valance...learned to make double welting and box pleats. Woo hoo!

My computer set up...see my little sleeping angel on the screen? grin
[img:left][/img]
My sister sent me this and it makes me grin every time I look at it. She's a hoot.

I know this takes up some space but I'm very, very happy with how this room turned out. It's a little crowded-looking, but we do everything in this room--sew, watch television, work on computers/homework. It's my favorite room in the house.

Cindy- I am happy your bathroom will be started soon. Keep on them as far as getting it done. No going off to another job for a couple days and letting you sit. Be firm with them.

AmyP- Love the valance. The fabrics are perfect together.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DH started working on the table legs. We bought laminate last week that matches the 8' countertop that will go in the room. It should not take long to get the table legs done. He is going to make the countertop a free standing table. I got the clock for the sewing room but it doesn't keep time even with a fresh battery. They are sending a new one at their expense and I do not have to send the other one back. Good customer service at that company. The clock says 'Loves to Sew' and has a tape measure tied in a bow above the words. I found so many craft themed clocks it was hard to pick ONE.
A coworker has a cricut and is going to cut some words out that I will hang in the room. INSPIRE, CREATE, GOT FABRIC? is what I have so far. Will go to Joann's tomorrow to get the paper.
I need some height in the room. Might ask DH to hang a couple small shelves. He is so reluctant to put a nail in the wall. It is a sewing room after all. There will be nails in the wall!
I sorted some of my buttons the other night and thought I might have some of them displayed in jars on the window sill. I have jars from half gallon down to 1/2 jelly jars. Thought a baby food jar would be the smallest I could use. I certainly do not 'need' and will not use up a one gallon jar of buttons.
Things to do for the sewing room
buy a chair
hang the new clock
buy paper for words
hang words
move countertop table in room
move fabric bins in room
move sewing tables in room
Amyp I love the room. You all did good.
Bathroom-you can't decorate a room that isn't there!!! What was I thinking? Yes I will have to pick out the counter top but after that there isn't anything until they finish it. So it's ben put on hold.
So I will do some projects and also I want to do some rearranging of the cabinets in the kitchen.
In the kitchen I want to get a 3 teir deal to move all my cans on one shelf. Move the appliances to over the hot water cabinet. Then I'll move the stiff onto that shelf. Then basicly I'll have all my staples in one area.
I also have the frames for the front pages of the paper I had made for my classroom. I have the front pages of the start of World War I and II plus the stock market crash. I need to use the green mater to make mats and then get them framed.
Also I have a print of a wine bottle scence that I love and I"m going to frame it to put above my liqour cabinet. I need to decide on mat color and cut it and mount the print and frame.
I will be getting my new TV soon and that will mean I need to figure out what to do above it. I'm thinking of a wall shelf from PB but I'm going to wait until I live with it a few days. But if I do decide on it and I want to get so my guy can hang it while he's here.
There's also some day trips I want to get in. There's two wineries and Affair of the heart I want to do. I need to get them done this month or forget it. Plus I have book club and my 40th class reunion. I have plenty to do so I won't get mood unless I chose to.
Hey I did sell all my old record albums. A friend is taking them and is thrilled. He's paying for them!! I'm just glad to get rid of them.
Well I should finish this novel with a catchy ending but I don't know of any so....Have a fun and safe Fourth!
Thanks for the kind words. I am so relieved this room is DONE.
I think for July my ROTM will be DD's room. She left for camp today (I miss her already!) so the first thing will be to go in and clean it the way I like it cleaned. During the summer I make her do it since she's not in school, and of course she isn't as nitpicky about it as I am.
We need to go through her closet and dressers and declutter. Also I still need to make a cornice and drapery panels for her window. The last thing will be, I think, her bedding. She needs a bedspread and sheets to match her room. The room's "theme" is tigers. So I'll look for items in tiger colors/stripes/designs to see what I can come up with.
Frugal: expanding on your plan to use your jars in your sewing rm... Ask DH to install a shelf and bolt your jar lids to the underside. With supplies stored in the jars, you merely unscrew the jar to get what you need, supplies are found at-a-glance and become part of the decor. The shelf could store your fabric stash or a container holding patterns or a photo display of items you've made etc.
Cyd, if Frugal's like any other sewing enthusiast I've ever met, one shelf is NOT enough to hold a fabric stash, ROTFLOL!
Amy: Your room looks lovely. I like how you have set it up.
I did a baby step in the garage today and got the bags of donations organized. Need to remember to wear my dust mask when I next go to do anything in the garage!
Great going ladies on your rooms! Those babysteps are really working for all of us.
I moved out a rocking chair from the screened in. It just seems to crowded for me, so may put that in the basement for now. I want to rearrange it, and do a little rug spot cleaning also.
That will be my mini ROTM this week.
