Tinytina- If you have a to do list, add a done list on the back. You can still cross out the dones on the ToDo list. The done list can be a good motivator. Rather than seeing the ToDo list and 'what is left', you can see what you have done on a separate piece of paper. At the end of the day, leave the done list on the bathroom counter so you can see it first thing the next day to remind yourself what you have accomplished. Moving is a big job.

I got up early today and did 4 loads of laundry and hung them out. I dusted the house and made bluberry pancakes for breakfast. It is cooler and less humid today so I put the chair pads out so we can sit on the patio this afternoon.

Hello Ladies! smile

Like most of you I spend a fair share of my day with routine tasks or with tasks that need or deserve immediate attention. So I don't really know how much time I have for other things on a given day. I think I can do one (small) planned task any day, so a "daily goal" is fine. I can work on two or three projects in a given week, of course I'll accomplish less in a busy week than in a quiet week, but I can always make progress. It's good to work on more than one project, because sometimes I cannot get on with a certain project on a certain day or it simply makes more sense to wait for better conditions (I can buy supplies when it is not pouring!). So I'll continue with this system.

Final update for this week:

Goals for Sat July 17 to Sun July 25

goals of the day
- practise singing
- go for walk
- complete plans for zoo visit and poetry festival
- finish recording song with musician friend
- freezer cooking or baking or shopping froze 4 bags of waffles
- plan another fun event I did some research in concert and event programs, but wasn't happy with anything I saw. Will have to do that again.
- start reading group month with all postings and messages
- update book exchange offers
- visit medieval festival The festival was great! I ended up taking pictures of noble knights in shining armour. laugh

Project 1: improve general order and cleanliness at home
- scrubbed garbage bin
- fixed curtain rod again
- cleaned bathroom
- three loads of laundry washed, hung up, folded, put away
- changed bed linens
- scrubbed bird cage
- ironed several pieces of clothing
- exchanged vacuum filter and dust mask (noted date on each)
- dusted desk
- hand washed delicate clothes
- scrubbed kitchen counter

Project 2: get a grip on paper and computer file mess
- picked up all the homeless scraps of paper and shredded them or put the in a more reasonable place (there are currently few "final destinations" for paper apart from the shredder frown )
- put teaching material into summer camp (to create more workspace)
- transferred recipe draft (tried once) to recipe collection
- emptied shredder box twice
- weeded paper
- took a bag of paper to recycling

Plans for next week:

Goals for Mon July 26 to Sun Aug 1

goals of the day
- clear camera memory card, update backup copy of photos
- practise singing
- plan fun activity
- mop kitchen floor
- iron 6 pieces of clothing
- design my personal address book with plenty of space for all kinds of useful extra information (special skills, favourite conversation subjects, etc, etc)
- *reserved for spontaneous activity*

Project 1: research new computer
My computer is outdated, so I need to figure out what kind of new computer would meet my needs. This project is done, when I can look at an offer and decide, if the computer would be suitable for me and if it's a good deal.

Project 2: maintain general order and cleanliness at home
It's ok, if things don't improve this week - as long as they don't get worse.

Project 3: work on paper and computer file mess

Jazzlady:
Great idea about attaining small goals each day with projects.
I like to do that too, and as you said, some weeks are busier than others and cannot complete all that you desire to, but by doing those babysteps with a project it gets completed! WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO~

Should probably close this up it is rather long.
