I FINALLY got all the plants in pots into the ground. The ground was hard as a rock. We are supposed to get some rain, which should make further yard work easier. At least we can water with a hose now. I had to get a new hose, because the old one (from the early 1900s) has sprung several leaks. I may get a few more plants at a sale, and have coupons for one garden store valid next Sunday, but otherwise, will focus on maintenance and all the other things I want and need to do.

The continuing hot weather should encourage me to stay inside and work on filing!

That was a typo- the hose wasn't from the early 1900s, but the early 1990s.

Friday I had a sore spot on my back. Thought it was a muscle thing because I worked on a spreadsheet all day at work. Yesterday when I got up, I noticed the right side of my chest hurt when I took a deep breath. Went to see MsClient and took her to breakfast and on the way home called the Dr and got in. They did some tests and the one that they use to determine if you have a clot was twice the level it should be. Off we went to the hosp to get a CT scan done. No clot and no reason or idea given for the elevated test. I will be following up with my Dr this week. All of this when I start with a new ded and coins to the tune of $4500 on 7/1. Ugh. This episode met my goal to 'Have meaningful conversation with DH daily' for the month.

Today I am doing laundry and have one load on the line and another washing. Need to pick the cukes and make sweet n sour cukes for supper. We are going to buy raspberries. Saw a sign on a side road yesterday.

It is warm today but there is a nice breeze. We got a lot of rain yesterday and last night. There were Tstorm warnings and it was pouring when we left the hospital. 4pm and it looked like 9pm.

I went to BB's house on Friday to pick up the mail, check the yard and take pictures inside the house. DH went with me. There is a lot of clutter on the first and 2nd floor but not junk clutter if you know what I mean. The basement has a path though and I did not go farther than the bottom step. The bum was there and smelled so bad of BO that it was burning my nose. I wonder if the water is shut off since the bill is 6 mos past due. I need to call and ask that question today. I am having the cable and internet turned off at the end of the week. I cannot do that until I have my Guardianship papers because it will require a stop at the cable office for proof that I can make changes on the account. BB's house was a mess. The bum is a slob. I have my work cut out for me. She has a niece that is willing to help me so I will accept her offer. I am sure my friend Julie will want to help too. She is good at staying on task when I find something and start wondering out loud what it was for. wink

Frugal: Thank goodness it wasn't a clot! Hopefully, it is not something too serious.

Frugal, great news about no clot. I hope you will be checked a couple of times more at intervals, just to be sure.

Who is BB? Sounds like a squatter? Anyway, good luck getting things back in order. I sympathize.

Frugal - What a scare! I hope there is a really simple, undramatic explanation for the test.

This week is going to be a "Mediterranean Week". The weather is going to be hot all week and therefore I'll work in the mornings, rest in the afternoons and then do a little more work at night. After last week's excitement I plan to take it easy this week. There are some things I must accomplish, then there are projects I will work on, but will decide tasks spontaneously according to weather and mood and list them after they are done. smile

Goals for Mon July 12 to Sun July 18

Mandatory tasks
- professional obligation task 1
- grocery shopping at nearby market
- paperwork / errand task 1
- shopping at the mall
- professional obligation task 2
- paperwork task 2
- complete selection of books for reading group
- more shopping
- practise singing

Projects to work on
- housekeeping
- website / paperwork
- keep in touch with friends
- fun stuff

Frugal:
TYG! So glad there was no clot, how scarey is that!?

Gosh that BB is a real jerk. I am hoping that you are going to be able to evict him, and that that the niece will show up to help you. Goodness, what is the matter with people?

Did you find the chair yet for the sewing room?

Hello ladies!

The heat is wearing people out. We went from relatively dry 95F yesterday to damp 85F today. No one's sure what's worse. My iced tea and iced coffee brewing skills are getting better on a daily basis. I experimented with both last summer, but not too much. Last week I read up on it and made my summer drinks more carefully. I love them, fewer trips to the market (the alternative would be sparkling water with or without juice), more low sugar variety and no caffeine deprivation either. smile There are lemons for my first try of real lemonade in the fridge. I had my first sip of genuine lemonade a few weeks ago in a cooking class (when all the guys agreed it was a shame the sample didn't contain vodka shocked ). When people here say "lemonade" they think of Sprite or 7up. It does not compare to the real thing, does it?

Great going on your list Jazzlady!

No lemonade is a drink unto itself! Have you ever made SunTea?
That makes itself in the sun. Very good flavor, and not a lot of work. Can make a gallon at a time if you wish.

~~~~~~~~~~
Happy dancing on completing another christmas project! Made some photo frames to give to the nursing home and/or Senior center as an aside gift come Christmas.
Worked at the library and actually signed up 6 kids for the summer reading program. There was nothing in June, but I think the mom's are looking for something "quiet" for the kiddies to do now in July! LOL
Finished another book and returned that while I was at the library.
Taking Gypsy in for her grooming today.
