I just received a phone call from the school's main office. They sent the termination letter to me by mistake. Can you imagine such a mistake?!?! shocked They were apologetic and said that they are sending me a contract.

I had just finished packaging my computer, put the shipping label on the box and was heading out to UPS when the phone rang.

I'm relieved, but also upset to know that this is the way that they handle terminations.

DD said, "Told you so". Last night at dinner, she said, "Maybe they made a mistake. You should call them." I'm thinking, "Oh yeh. I'm really going to call up and ask if they terminated me by mistake." crazy And, then it turns out that they did. I kind of feel like I'm on Candid Camera.

Anyway, THANK YOU to all for your hugs, kind words and prayers. It really helped me get through such a stressful situation. It was an enlightening experience for me and a test of my faith and strength.

P.S. I guess it was a good thing I couldn't get in touch with those agencies on the phone this morning. I'm still attempting to get unemployment for the summer months though.

Carol: I am glad that it was a mistake, but my goodness! No body should have to go through that kind of stress! Hope you receive your contract ASAP!

Maureen: Hope the surgery goes smoothly and the recovery afterwards is fast and as pain free as possible.

I've accomplished a few goals (DD's graduation, monthly prayer meeting, friend's party) and will accomplish another goal or two when I go for my dr's appt. this afternoon and hand in the lab specimens.

thanks Diana and Bless. I know that it is minor surgery but to me a neck incision is major :0

Oh Yes - Maureen - Best wishes for tomorrow! And, I totally agree with you. Actually to me even minor surgery is major as I've never had either. Let us know how it goes when you can.

Carol - I couldn't believe they terminated you after all you did for them! Then I couldn't believe they could be so INCOMPETENT!!! Oh, sorry, you weren't supposed to get that... doesn't anyone double-check anything any more???!!! I'm angry for you, even tho you still have the job... May I use this as an example in my classes? (no name, of course!) But it's a good example of WHY you need to double-check EVERYTHING! OMG - you poor thing - what a week!

we went on vacation for a week - that was fun, but the puppy apparently can't be left alone in the house - EVER - he chewed up my swimsuit and a bunch of little things are in "new" places or missing (eyedrops, hairbands, nicknacks - you know - chewable puppy stuff); so he's making me a little crazy...

so my current motto is "a place for everything" (see Diana, it does get thru eventually!) - starting small, but I went thru a few drawers looking for things (a copper bracelette I haven't seen in a few years, the watch I misplaced before vacation) and found lots of different stuff in lots of different places - so those miscellaneous things now have "real" homes. baby steps, baby steps. Still haven't found bracelette or watch, but did find some misc jewelry pieces that I could make into something else!

did:
- unpacked (within 24 hours! a record!)
- watered plants
- got pix downloaded and labeled
- deleted LOTS of emails

to do:
- get massage appt
- get personal trainer appt
- get paraphernalia from old bike and put on new bike
- library
- organize a little a day - use that timer!

Maureen - Best wishes to you. Get well soon!

Carol - How much do you still trust the people you work with? I am glad you have a contract and an income now. Still, it might make sense to look around for alternatives. But first, have a fine summer break!

Here is in update and a small change of plans from me before I decide which task to tackle next.

Goals for Mon June 21 to Sun June 27

Companions and Experts
- study summer program of the community college
- weather permitting, attend charity organization festival on Sat or Sun
- if the weather is bad: design my personal address book with plenty of space for all kinds of useful extra information (special skills, favourite conversation subjects, etc, etc)

Improve Contentment Regarding Profession
- obligations
** task 1
** task 2
** task 3
- improvements
** decide which content of my present website will be incorporated into the new site
** design template for web page (colour scheme, menu, etc)

Streamline Housekeeping
- cook a batch of vegetarian chilli
- buy summer sneakers (tried some, but wasn't happy with them)
- scrub bathroom floor and cabinet
- make sure there are four posh outfits in the wardrobe

Fun and Friends
- 14 emails / conversations / phone calls / postings - just for fun (6 done)
- visit musician friend and record song
- cooking class

The song still needs a few finishing touches, we like the results we have so far.

Unusual or Repository
- hem a pair of pants
- toss one extra bag of paper

a. Banana muffins using a couple overripe bananas
b. clean up behind my baking project

6. Sewing -
