Darlene - I thought your window was a painting until I saw the car in the lower left corner. What a great view. Good compromise with DH on the furniture.

Frugal, your sewing room looks terrific! Have fun researching machines.

I got one more wall painted in the game room. DH was finally released from his doctor so he could help me move the heavy stuff.

I'd love to think I could finish the last wall in the next few days, but I really need his help with this wall since it involves disconnecting/reconnecting lots of electronics and moving my desk, which is very heavy. He has other priorities in the next few days--including getting his boat ready so he and DD can go fishing. He hasn't been able to go in over a year. I guess I can wait a few more days.

In the meantime, I can go through the items that go on the bookshelves and re-organize them. It's time to do that anyway.

But hey, what I got done looks great, and we put a new shelf up as well. Small blessings and progress!

Frugal, for your sewing table have you checked out the "Norden gateleg table" from Ikea? I think it was Beaglelady who mentioned it first but it looks like it might make a good table for a sewing/crafts room.

I suspect the "rosy hue" that makes the window look like a painting may be caused by the plastic that we put on the window for the winter.

We'll get to "test drive" our living room arrangement this weekend. My DH's DD, her DH and their 2 children (ages 6 yrs and 2.5 months) are coming to visit us. I'm looking forward to their visit. This will be the first time we get to see the new baby.

So glad to hear DH is doing so well. You are right, things wait. The fact you can work on other things in the meantime is wonderful. Babysteps count no matter where they are.

Oh, Darlene:
Sounds like a really fun weekend! A new baby to hold and love along with a 6 yr. old to play with and the DHs kids. Love it.
Have a wonderful time.

Frugal:
I agree the outside scenery for Darlene's was lovely.

It's hot already and very, very humid. It seems like we didn't have any spring.

I did get up and spray my tray black to I can put wine labels on it. It's been something I've wanted to do for awhile and now I can finally start.

I went to penney's for their sale and did damage. I've gained some weight and I needed some new tops. I also got a drop dead dress to wear to my class reunion. The one I have is tight and I was worried I might not lose enough for it to be comforable. This way I'm safe. I do need to shorten it a little but that'll be easy.

I also went to a resale shop and found a table I think I want to get to replace a glass top living room one that I have. It's a metal tray on a metal luggae rack holder. It's really cute and could always be used outside. I think when I get my ACT check I"ll get it. I still have one class top table in the living room and that's not a great idea.

I also went out to the garage and changed some containers out. The jars I had gotten for some nails had a design and I couldn't see the nails. I got some of the bigger baby food jars and they work great. I also put some things in a box drawer organixer since I had make dividers. I bought nails nails to hang the last two tool but it's so hot I'm taking a break.

Ok not sure what I'm going to do now but I need to do something. Maybe I'll mix up some cookies. I'm going to need them soon.

You are one busy gal, but look at all the progress you are making. So glad you found a nice dress for the reunion. Good for you!

I know exactly what you are speaking about with the table. Great idea to look in a resale store.

Darlene-we don't have an IKEA store close. I checked the tale online and DH can make one for much less. Thanks for the idea though.

We finished the floor in the sewing room. It really looks nice. DH is going to put the trim on this week and then I will cover the nail holes and repaint those areas on the trim and paint the window sill. Once the trim is in the door will go on and I need to paint it. I am hoping DH will then get the countertop installed. I can start moving some bins in there when the countertop is done. I can move the cutting table in and probably sew on it until the other tables are ready.

I found a great website for clocks with a sewing theme. I want a clock in the room so I can keep track of time. I have some decorative ideas that I will stop at Joann's for.

I'm so mad I cold spit!!! I just washed two loads of laundry in hot water. I'm praying I'll still be able to fit in clothes now. I had washed flea towels in hot water and forgot to switch it. Luckly it wasn't my jeans but I've already outgrown some shirts and at least these had been ones I could wear. Only time will tell.

I need to get the house picked up. It's not dirty but it's messy. I'm just cooling down after being out running a few errands. We're having a heat index of 105 and it zaps any engergy you thought of having.

Cindy, I feel your pain...it's hot and sticky here too. You'd think it would scare up some thunderstorms, but then it would be even stickier. Yuck. I have so much work to do outside and I just can't make myself get out there, not yet, anyway. I'm determined to finish this game room.

Speaking of which, I am taking a break from putting stuff back on my sewing area bookshelves. As you might imagine there are a lot of items that aren't books that live on the shelves, so it's taking some arranging. I have discarded about half of a 33-gallon bag of pictures, papers, and junk. Trying to thin it out as I go, and to have a better arrangement, one that works for me. It's going a little slow but I'm getting there.

I have to finish this all off before DSS comes to visit in July. All the stuff I moved out of the way is piled on the guest room bed, so I need to get this room in order to get THAT room in order. Dominoes, anyone? grin

DD is helping DH get the boat fixed up so they can fish on Tuesday. I can't think of a better way for her to spend Father's Day, can you? grin
