I know, it's not June, but I decided to start it a little day earlier.

I will continue to work in the yard, and also need to do some windows, but heard from the weathermen, it is suppose to rain all week! That will postpone the window washing until next week, and things will be slower around here I hope.

I also am gathering up items for the sale, and hope to get the garage finished first, powerwash the floor, and then continue to bring up sales items. Am finding those items I kept aren't that "special" to me any more. Don't need 4 different table cloths for each season. When mom and DD were here, yes, but not know for me. Will keep a few, and let the rest go to new homes.

What are your plans for this month. A big WHOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO to Frugal and her DH in getting a new sewing/craft room almost completed by the holiday (I think they are painting now). Another big WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO to Darlene and her DH finishing up the bathroom in their basement!

All the rest of you have a big WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO on working in your ROTM!!!! You all ROCK!

AmyP- sorry to hear about DHs layoff. Everything works out in the end it is just getting to the end that is hard. I too had to be away from DH when he was recuperating from surgery last summer. I always said I went to work so I could rest. lol

Since moving in last week I've been concentrating on the kitchen. I have a few more things to do in it today and then will move on to (or back to) the craft room for June.

ROTM/May:
clean floor
find homes for things on table
remove empty boxes

I will tweak this room as it comes up in branches...

ROTM/June:
Organize shelves
clear off table
find homes for items on floor
set up DDs' desks/craft area

This morning I did 2 loads of laundry and hung them outside. Then I vacuumed the house and 3 more screens. We have cottonwood trees in the neighborhood that are dropping their little cotton balls and they stick to the screens like crazy. I scrubbed the floors and was sweating like crazy. Made potato salad for tonight and a cool front went through and the temp dropped to 70. It was great.

I picked the newspaper off the floor in the sewing room and vacuumed and mopped the floor. I did not start moving the canning jars to the pickle cove. It was such a nice day we decided to sit outside and enjoy the cooler weather.

I did get all the painting done and it looks good if I say so myself. Even DH likes the color. He is going to start working on the level line around the room for the ceiling panels tomorrow. When the ceiling is in then the floor is next. I would love to be back in the room by the 4th of July. We will lose a weekend of work due to DHs family get together (just found out about it this weekend). We are flexible when it comes to them. We are the the planners of the group and they are the fly by the seat of their pants group. lol

Fugal you did a lot of work and deserve to get to sit out. It was pretty here too and I did that after the kids left.

DGS came for a visit. Activity little guy. We went to DM and DF's house and he had a blast there. We got the cutest picture of him in DF's boat. It will melt DF's heart.

Funny thing was DD chased him around their house and anounce DM and DF were hoarders. I told her to tell me something I hadn't realized. She told me not to worry we'd deal with it when the time was arouse.

I didn't get anything done today except some bushes trimmed. I plan on getting up in the morning and doing some work in the attic. It's to hot any other time. I want to get some work done up there this summer no matter what the heat. It feels so good to have the garage almost done I want it done too.

I will go along with the big wooo hooo to everyone and their accomplishments!!!

ROTM will continue to be outdoors and garage.....Need a break other than what I absolutely have to do from the perrenial ROTM...the office.....so....I have been babystepping it. Got some new ground cover from a client, and that will be put in tomorrow after work, if no rain. Bought a bunch of topsoil for the front of the house and put that down. Amazing how so much goes such a small way. Did some roundup on the overgrowth of lily of the valley along the edges to try and control it a bit, and sprayed more roundup along some edges of the house by the window wells. I am working to get the grass care easier. With those areas covered in weed block fabric and the mulch I got this weekend, it is just simplification in process. It will give it a cleaner look and will be easier in the long run to maintain. The blank spots in the yard that were grass free have been seeded and have filled in nicely with all the rain of the past month as well.

With regard to garage progress. Have made a plan for the inside and have also broken down all the boxes that were in there. Swept it down once as well and have managed to toss about 2 boxes of just plain junk. Want to have a yard sale by the end of the month so clearing out the garage of junk is mandatory.

I got up and went to the attic. I was able to fill one big box with donations. Some how I'm getting a bunch of empty containers now. Sure feels good.

DD and SonIl are building a cabin. I'm hoping they may take some of chests and use them in it. I'm going to push them them to do it. They could use two bench toy chests as end tables and the cedar chest as a coffee table. I would be thrilled.

I went through my flowers and have some to give away. Most I've put in arrangments so that means I'll use smaller containers to hold what's left. Then I can move them to another area and free up some space.

In fact while I'm talking I've thought of some ways store some stuff and that will make it where I can toss other stuff. I like it that I"m finally coming up with a plan.

Good for you Cindy with your attic organizing. That would be great if you could get the chests to DD and DSIL. Is the cabin near to them or you? Sounds like fun for the family.

WHOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO on the donations!

Beaglelady:
Good to see you, and your still accomplishing things with all the work and the new job. Are you liking it?

Maureen:
Hoping things are settling down for you with the new move.
Sounds like you have things under control very nicely.

Frugal:
I cannot wait to see your room. It sounds so exciting! I know you and DH have worked very hard at it.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Got the garage all straightened out, except for the floor washing, but I put the bins on top of tables so I can do it anytime and not have to move anything. Have two tables filled with bins so far....not fooling around this time! LOL
Since I was up at the crack of dawn for my Optimist meeting I went out to school and worked for 4 hours. I was able to get the room cleaned and that was no easy task. The guy had not even put the shelves in the cabinet.
I was also able to get two bins emptied and put up. Of course I changed the lay out a few times. This room has more cabinets. Also I have books and supplies for two subjects instead of two. And I've collect more things.
I'm still trying to figure out what I want to put on the walls. we're going on a road trip tomorrow to a wine tasting and I'm going to stop at that decorative fabric shop and see what I can get as far as material for it. I think as far as picutes I'll get the constituation and Bill of rights and frame them.
I just had a thought: I'm teaching from 1865 to 1974 so I really need something more recent like Rosie. Need to check and see what I can find. Be more interesting to me to look at.
Anyway after I too a nap I work in the garage some. I was able to clear the work bench. I need to get some things and also wash the top of the bench but I'll get there.
Need to shop for some poster.
