Bravo, Hadassah! I know you must still be on cloud 9...what a lovely memory you have created for both your sons. You should be very proud of yourself and them. Happy dancing is in order!

Hadassah, Congratulations! I am SO happy that you had a wonderful celebration and how well it turned out to be! All your advance preparations paid off! I cried when I read your son's speech and I loved reading your's. Such a wealth of information in them both. I still need to go back and read the booklet and will do so a bit later. You look lovely in your dress and I loved the video clip of your sons in the parking lot. So much love was in evidence! I hope this experience will keep you up-lifted on days that are yet to come.

Thank you amyp! thank you blessmymess, I am really happy that you had a chance to see some of the documents that will serve as the basis of unforgettable memories!

I agree with you, seeing the love between the two brothers is worth anything, and makes me feel like the job of raising them is a success.

So, here I am, 2 days before the planned grad. party, and fully half the people I invited haven't responded to my request to RSVP me by last Sat! One person called me as late as last night to say she and her family are coming!

Ah, well, I usually assume everyone is coming unless they tell me otherwise. No doubt I'll end up with too much food as usual, but that just means I won't have to cook for the rest of the week. smile

Now, I need to get off my backside and clean the house, finalize the menu and go grocery shopping!

Hadassah:
What a lovely sharing! I haven't read the entire speech, but plan on doing that later today. Much going on this morning.
CONGRATULATIONS and I am delighted things went so well for all of you. You and your boys are wonderful!

Bless:
Hoping your DD's graduation luncheon was just as successful and fun. I am sure you worked very very hard. So glad your friend came to help you.

I am such a proud GONer mom for my two ladies!

I am back!

I returned from my trip to homeland, I'll be happy to share with you, although it is not entirely organization related, but I am still jetlagged (came back home on Thursday evening, and had an hectic first day with my business).

Thank you for checking on this thread.

I have left a week right after the barmitzvah, and feel like I still need to catch up with lots of feedbacks about it.

I brought my parents the video that was made, but it was more for me than for them, as it is not an edited document (the camera is set before the service, and operates on its own, so it's hard to understand if you weren't actually there, as the focus is not necessary on what's going on when significant moments occur! like my autistic son's reactions, etc).

The first week I would have spoken non-stop about it. I am still hoping to get some pictures.

My son finished all his thankyous before we left for France, and someone has actually acknowledged that it was really a great sign of maturity on his part: so he also acknowledged that it was worth it to have done it, and be done with the "chore"!

I did see how proud he was, and how maturing the whole process has been for him. I am very happy about this of course.

Now, I will concentrate on the other events that I am part of, namely the Auction and Dinner Party (I am the administrator for the Auction website) and the next fundraiser for the Foundation for Educating Children with Autism (twice a year).

Great to be back home!

Welcome back, Hadassah! You were missed while you were gone! I hope you had a good vacation, visiting your family and friends. Give that jet lag a few days and you should be fine. That's great that your son wrote his thank you cards. I still struggle with my DD when she has to write thank you cards.

Hadassah:
Good to have you back. SOOOOO glad you got back home and visited with family and friends. I agree with Bless, take a few days to catch up on jet lag, and just getting back home.
Love that your son wrote his thank you notes so prompty. Sign of good manners, IMHO. (I'm still waiting for an acknowledgement from a niece/nephew for a babygift!).

Next social event I'll be hosting will be the monthly prayer meeting, next month. Yesterday, I volunteered to host it in mid-Aug. Approx. 25 people. It's not a formal gathering, so, things will be fairly relaxed.

I've got to call everyone and confirm the date next week. Then, come up with a menu and check supplies (although, I think I'm pretty good where the paper goods are concerned). I am hoping it won't be too hot on that day, not only for the comfort of my guests but also for my own cooking and cleaning benefit! Wish me luck!
