Happy Easter everyone!!

Nothing much planned for us today. The bunny came, went to church, now cooking an Easter meal for ourselves.

Fleur: Adorable! Brings back memories. I am enjoying mine at every age, the holidays are always memorable.

We returned home yesterday. Were able to get a reservation at one of our condos in Southern Oregon. Spent four nights there. We split the drive going down and spent a night on the road. Came home yesterday, took us 12 hours. There was snow the whole time we were gone, had to plan our routes to keep out of the worst of it. Yesterday the first three hours were the worst with spots of the road having compact snow and ice. Some semi trucks jacknifed and off the road. We made it through fine and sure enjoyed the rest of the drive without having to deal with that.

We spent the time being totally lazy. DD and DH went swimming once while DS and I ran to the grocery store. DS cannot get his cast wet so he didn't want to go anywhere near the pool. Otherwise we read, played board games and video games, and just relaxed. It was great. Finished two books and read another one.

Got home pretty late last night and put the kids right to bed. I made my dessert for Easter dinner and then we hid some eggs and put out the gifts for the kids. Up early this morning with the kids excited for Easter morning. Went to church then to my parents for egg hunt and potluck. We are now back home and slowly getting unpacked and things back to normal.

I'm not even sure what the week ahead holds. Haven't checked the calendar yet. Not going to face reality yet!

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter!

I tried three things, had three failures and one success....

I want to refinish the living room floor before I paint. I had stained and polyurethaned them 15 years ago (and the dining room and sun room). I don't want to do the whole big floor sander thing. A friend and I had sanded the hall and kitchen a few years ago and they came out OK. So I figured I'd try a spot under the radiator, that way if it didn't work no one could see it. Thing is, it's the largest radiator in the house. Got it unhooked and I couldn't budge it.

So I tried under the bookcase and it worked! So one good thing, I can sand the floor even though it has stain. smile I just can't budge that radiator on my own.

Then I wanted to clean between the garages. I tried to push my car out of the way and it wouldn't budge. I don't know why because it doesn't have a motor in it, one of the tires must be square or something.

Then I figured I'd just drag the bins out into the driveway around the car. Except I can't really move them either. I tried harder on one and just cracked it.

Basically I went deeper in between the garages and tripped over the bins on the way out. But I did get some stuff out so that's a good thing. Trash is full again! But I was feeling weak for awhile!

Tonight I grabbed a box and tossed most of the stuff on my desk into it. And a pile of stuff that was on the floor. I still need to go through it - a lot of the floor stuff was bills that I have pdfs of already so they can be shredded. But I couldn't handle the desk anymore!

I hung up my cork board and also a key hook that has a bunch of ribbons from races I have done on it. I still have a few more things but it's a huge start.

Diane, you're like me, I'll try any project!!

Had a great day at my DD's yesterday. LOVE that train! No traffic, no stress!

Was home early enough to get a few things done.

Back to work today, easy day, need to make some more appointments.

Yesterday, I planted beans and radishes (seeds).

Later, Easter lunch at my cousin's.

Scrapbooked in the evening.

Today, it is back to work!

Everyone has really been busy.

Rachel, good to see you again!

Bless, lots done...good job.

Fleur, he's so cute! Before you know it he will be off and running.

Pam, good motivation to get things cleaned up.

Diane, you never know til you try! Good to know you don't have to rent the big sander.

Waterlady, sounds like a great weekend, work around the yard done and a visit to dd!

Jodi, sounds like the ideal vacation for you. Glad you made it thru the nasty weather ok.

Kristil, busy can be good, makes the day go by faster. Sorry the bathroom accessories aren't what you hoped.

Apologies to anyone I missed!

Had a busy Saturday - shopping, cleaning, food prep and finishing up my dress (did finish it and wore it Sunday to church). Then Sunday it was the Sunrise Service and then the regular worhsip at 11. Both services were great! In between I did more prep for lunch which ended up being served close to 3. But we had another couple over and the 4 of us had a great time. Good food, relaxing and good conversation. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Today I did my dailies and also went to pt for my hip. Found out my pelvis is out of alignment which led to the hip pain. I'm tender now but can tell a difference already. Back again next week with exercises to do twice a day in between. Looking forward to total relief. Not much else planned today...dgd is back and she's at school. She really didn't want to go back to school...she enjoyed her spring break a lot! LOL

Have a great one all!

Lots going on! Good job everyone!

Today I am working on day 11 of working with no day off! Whew!Looking forward to Friday!! I agreed to work last Friday and Saturday at the portrait studio then got suckered into working Sunday as well. For those of you who think this must be a fun job, this is what happened Saturday...

A grandmother with one group made a rude comment to a child in another group and pushed them. That child's grandmother pushed the offending grandmother and was punched in the face. Cops were called and arrests made. Pandemonium ensued! Such is the fun, glamorous life at the portrait studio!! On Easter weekend yet!!

Anyway...yesterday was hot...87 degrees. Rolled up pants legs at work. Looked funny but was cooler. Today is supposed to be about the same. Came home and located at least one decent pair of shorts to wear to work. Need to rotate out summer clothes now.

Back at Christmas I bought the cats a floor to ceiling cat tree with different levels to perch on. They just ignored it. Last week mama cat decided to investigate and now uses it, sleeping on an upper level. Noticed yesterday that it is leaning from her weight and jumping up and down from it. Need to secure it so it doesn't fall. I am thinking one of those screws with a loop at the end and a guide wire screwed into the wood trim. As the trim is right at the ceiling I will be working above my head. May can secure it lower, need to look at it really good and find a solution.

Guess that is all I have to report. Still trying to get woke up and get going this morning. Have a great day all!

Got the grape/plum paint out and painted the edges of the shelving that surrounds the porch ceiling. It looks real good! Had to take everything off the shelves, but, it's a good time to purge all the "stuff". I reinforced the brackets too while I had everything off there.

Took down the moulding around the inside LR door, cleaned some paint spills off it, sanded it. Now it's ready to stain, but I don't have enough stain. Will try to pick some up today.

Kristil, I can't believe that!!!!!!

Have a slow day today, need some work!!!

Kristil, that's a lot of days without work. I am betting that you can do without that kind of excitement at work! How unbelievable that grandmothers (well, anyone really) would behave like that! YIKES! Hope you're able to find a solution for securing the kitty tree.

Helen, hope things are going well for you.

Waterlady, that sounds really cool with the grape/plum paint! Good idea to reinforce brackets too while you have the chance! You are going to town on the house!

Had a very relaxed restful day yesterday! I did my dailies and little else! But it was nice to have that chance to relax.

Today I have lots to do to make up for slacking off last week. Here's my list of to-do's for today:

Change sheets - done
clean bathrooms - one down, one to go
dust
vacuum
laundry
sweep and steam mop hard floors
clean out fridge
clean off counters
scrub out sink
mail dd's inhaler to her (silly girl forgot it yesterday when she left)

I think that's it! It will keep me pretty busy that's for sure!! LOL

Have a great day everyone.
