Thanks Cari.....it does feel good....it is just taking way too long. This has been a busy year so every little thing I get done, I need to be happy with.

Almost ex, came over yesterday and we managed to get through 2 more years of back taxes....only need to get one more before we go to court. I have only to go through the biz expenses and tally mileage to get these 3 years to the accountant. In the process, also managed to toss a tall kitchen can of papers that just need to be shredded before the next trash pickup day(next week

Beaglelady,
Great progress on the taxes. How's that last box going? Do you have a date set for the court hearing?

Chef, with DB enidng up in the hospital in ICU for 2 weeks and then another 5 days in a regular room, life got put on hold. I worked all day then drove the hour plus to the hospital. When visiting hours were over at 9 & I said good nite, he asked me to stay and I couldn't say no, so was there til 11.

So unfortunately we are still not done with the divorce yet. We have one final postponement until Sept 28, or sooner if i can get things finished. Soon to be ex, is in dire financial straights....I have tried to help in some ways but he is not taking any responsibility for himself so I have stepped back. My attorney wants this to be done so in case any financial things come up, I won't be left holding the bag. Then we can take any cash needed from his 401k to cover his obligations. So, now with brother out of the hospital and in a lot of pain from 5 broken ribs, he doesn't want to see much of anyone. We talk 2 to 5 times a day, I have been working long hours with new trainees, and I am starting to get the biz receipts gone through for the four years.....it will definintely take a few weeks to sort and double check.

Beaglelady, Of course, it slipped my mind that you were dealing with your brother's illness as well!

It's important that your attorney is thinking of shielding you from soon to be ex-DH's financial issues.

My own office has become a bit of a disaster lately. The last 60 days for work have been insane. I've been working MUCH more than I care to and just yesterday was able to work something out with the company I work with in order to be able to get my schedule/work load back to where it needs to be.

That being said, either today or tomorrow needs to be "office day." Wish me luck...

Beaglelady -

You have a lot on your plate right now! The office can certainly wait until things settle down a bit for you. Hope you're taking time to relax a bit.

chef - Hope you're taking some time to relax as well! Glad you were able to work something out with your company. Whew!

Ok, I'm in too. Here it is almost the middle of August, and I still haven't gotten this area completed. I wanted it done before school started. I only have two weeks to make that goal.

I have several things going on right now, but they're not excuses. If I want this done, then I "need" to make the time. I'll plan on working two hours a day until I can get to work on it on Sunday.

In late spring, we moved our office to the back section of the family room. The area where the office was is now the kid's playroom. However, the kids can't really "play" because there are numerous boxes to go through and many projects that I need to update my project list and put them all together to work through the backlog.

So that's my official plan "spoken outloud" to the world. I'll report my progress.

I've been working on my office this week, and I'm seeing some nice results. Yesterday I rearranged the shelves so I could get better access to my printer/scanner/fax. I had put it on a higher shelf, but I had to stand up every time I wanted to fax/scan something. The shelves are adjustable so I moved some around and put it on a lower one. Much better!

Then I bought some small plastic containers at the dollar store, which I used to organize my greeting card 'collection.' I send a lot of cards to the military overseas and I've built up quite a stash. Now they're in bins, with dividers for each type, and I can find what I need much faster.

Last week I donated two printers and a fax/answering machine to my church, so I freed up some floor space. Their fax had quit working a few weeks prior, so they were happy to receive mine.

Next step is to scrub the hard drive on my old computer and then take it to my city's electronic recycling drive next weekend. They follow everything to end-of-life to ensure it doesn't get sent to foreign countries, like I have seen on TV, where the components are stripped and resold. Then the floor should be clean and free of "stuff" - what a concept!

I worked and got some big stuff that the kids had brought into the play space. So that left freed up some space, even though it took a while to move everything.

I'll work on it again tonight.

I have been working on my whole apartment this summer-- I have a one bedroom with the office in the bedroom. The lastest thing that I did was go through the filing cabinet and down size to a file create. It makes the space look bigger with the cabinet gone and the file create on the floor so that is good. It is a simple area that I can surf the net and pay bills. I have another area in my dinning room/living area that I do my homework at (still trying to finish up school) so that way I can focus more on that task.

I have mental illnesses so in a way I have to have things organized and clean and areas seprated to help me function easier. This thursday is payday for me and I am making a list of that last few things that I need to get to complete my place so that way it will be oganized and I can focus on getting some extra income in.
