My April goals:

1. To keep the rooms I've already deep cleaned, picked up & clean on a daily basis.

2. To begin decluttering & deep cleaning my kitchen.

3. To finish my taxes (I know...last minute).

4. To look at finances & begin working on a budget.

5. To decide whether to retire or not.

6. To keep checkbook balanced.

7. To set up doctor/dentist appts.

8. Call Sprint by month's end to get new phone.

9. I've recently switched to decaf coffee but no more than 2 cups per day.

10. To spend time w/grandkiddies.

I've accomplished a lot around here today.

- 5 loads of laundry, washed, dried, folded and put away
- Floors swept and mopped
- Carpets all vacuumed
- Dining area and living room all rearranged.
- Easter cupcake treats all finished and bagged to give tomorrow

I also received good news in the mail today. My Income Sensitive Payment Schedule was approved for my student loan. YIPPEE!!!! That's going to save me about $160 a month for the next year. Yes, I will have to make it up eventually, but right now there is NO WAY that I could make the original payment.

I decided to go ahead and put the sofa cover on to see what it looks like. Here's a picture:

I'm not completely finished with it yet. I need to figure out what to do with the sides and front around the arm area. I also need to make some new throw pillows.

Here are the little cupcake bites for Easter:

Carol:
Could you pin the arms into a design with straight pins?
Hard to explain just kind of twist the material and then pin?

Looks lovely and rich.

The cupcakes are adorable! Such talent......I really envy your creativness!

Carol- I did a search on 'sofa slip cover' and got lots of hits. You can see how they fixed the ends. I love the color of your slip cover.

Carol: my sofa cover (the one I purchased) has a set of ties attached to the front to tie in front of the arm. It sort of holds the fabric in place.

Chisgran - will you go kick my sister in the butt, please, and tell her to be nicer to our mom? she lives in Somerset - thanks.

Well, I'm doing more crafting, which means I'm behind on work and house stuff, so I guess tonight is my catch up nite. We bought microwavable GLASS dishes cuz microwaving the plastic is bad for you - plan to freecycle the old stuff, once I round it all up. Balanced checkbooks till 3 am - not a good idea, but I was awake...

this week:
- get taxes back from acct
- catch up on ALL school stuff
- maintenance on car
- schedule massage
- ski season ends in one week! Try to get a couple more days in!!!
- the "usual"

I am going to be posting and working on daily goal lists this week. We have a busy week with something going on four of the five nights. We leave Saturday evening to spend the night in Seattle before flying to California on Sunday.

I have started packing but need to finish before Friday.

Today's Goals:

Attend Field Trip with DS (morning)
Bank
Get prize for tomorrow's staff meeting
Parent group prep (treasurer's report and book fair schedule)
Laundry (2 loads)
Grocery Store (salad stuff)
Pack DS's clothes for trip

I already have DS's baseball gear laid out and the kids' clothes for today. We leave the house in an hour. We have to drop DD at DGM's house and be early to school for the field trip. I won't get home then until probably 8:00 tonight (baseball). So I will also be focusing on good food and lots of water today to keep my energy and focus up!

Off to start the race! Will check in before bedtime.

Sounds like a busy busy but fun day Jodi!

Dogmom:
Hate when the sibblings act that way! Hope the butt kick works! LOL At least while you were up during then night you accomplished something other than trying to sleep! LOL

Frugal and Bless: HI!

Debora:
Great going on keeping things in place. Is it working? I know it does for me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope you all had a lovely Easter day. I ate too much, but not overload, was comfortable. Came home and vegged and visited on a few phone calls.
Watched the documentary from the library, have one more section to see.
Doing laundry today, and might work on some cross stitch or other cards.
What are you all up to this week? I have some appointments to do this week, but fairly easy week. TYG!
DogMom: Thanks for reminding me - I need to take my car in for an oil change, etc.
Jodi: You've a busy week ahead! Enjoy the field trip today. I try to go with my DD on all her field trips! I think I enjoyed some of them even more than she did! LOL.
Diana: Glad you got to have a nice Easter without having to cook a big meal, etc.
*************
My goal for this week is work oriented. Due to being out sick for nearly 2 weeks and a lack of sufficient data to work with, I am behind schedule with my document. So, I must really try and finish the document (inspite of still insufficient data!) this week. Wish me luck, please. And I'll appreciate any well wishes for things to go smoothly. I need all the help I can get!
Apart from that, I want to be supportive of my DD as she gears up for her APs and SATs. She's under intense pressure from her teachers and school to do well on these exams. I don't pressure her at all, and she knows it and tells me she appreciates it, but her teachers and school are a different kettle of fish.
I see my role in all this as being there to make things as easy and as smooth for her as possible. What this means is, preparing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for her, making sure she gets adequate sleep, exercise, etc., and providing her with a sympathetic ear when she grouses and not taking it personally when she gets impatient and snappy at times (she's always quick to apologize afterwards).
I had a relaxing Easter. DD and I went out to brunch with DF, DM, DS, Dsis and DNephew. DSis and DNephew then heading back home to Southern California. DD and I hung out at my parents house for the afternoon. DD played checkers with Grandpa, and I napped. DS and his girlfriend went to DS best friend's house for dinner. DD and I went out for dinner with DM and DF. Then, we headed home. A calm day!
Today, even though it is technically Spring Break, DD and I did 4 History lessons as she is way behind in that subject. This afternoon we are going to concentrate on working on our online esty shop to sell our handcrafted items, and also do a little more work on getting our new home set up.
