Definitely agree about taxes being a project. Just finished with some old taxes, and now have to start with last year. I too am relieved when they are mailed in and DONE!

Worked on crocheting last night. Hope to do some stitching on the hawaiian pillow the weekend. Have a rather busy weekend though. Out today ME day. Tomorrow have to serve at church, and Sunday is the play my DB and DSIL treat me to. I can fit it in here and there.

What are your plans?

Wanted to wish you well with your luncheon and gathering on Sunday. You should take the entire week off next week, after you ETE and PUPA!

LOL, Diana! I just might do that! Actually, I've been taken the last 2 evenings off and just knitting on my socks instead of cleaning and making the candy! Sort of "resting up" for this weekend's final push!

I finished my pair of socks and wore them yesterday evening! They are nice and warm. \:\) Started on a 2nd pair - offered to make them for DD, but she doesn't like socks, especially woolen ones.

Glad the socks were worn and you like them! I don't know if I could handle wool or not. Itchy for me! LOL

Going to work on a project today, the hawaiian pillow and one of the items I purchased yesterday, lots of light in the house!

Diana - I've been trying to figure out how to add lights here and there for crafting, also. I have a little light that is quite portable, so I usually just plug it in close to where I decide to sit - right now it's in the living room. But I'd like something a little more permanent for each of the other rooms - can't stand it dark!!

Projects for Feb. are on hold until after DS2 and DDIL move - which is the 17th. They've been living here, with their dog and two guinea pigs - it hasn't been that bad at all, since the dogs seem to pretty much get along, and they have the guest room which has its own bath and sitting area in the basement - so there is some privacy for each of us. Will really miss them when they go.

I'll be driving down to LA at the same time they are, though, because there really isn't room in the moving truck front for both of them and their dog. My best friend is going to go with me, so we can share the driving, and we'll "deliver" the dog. Will probably stay for maybe a day or two - if DDIL wants help getting things unpacked - and then we will drive back. Kind of making a fun trip out of it, but we both are going out of town together for a "women's weekend" on the 28th, so we don't want to go directly from one to another. Guess my project should be packing ahead of time since Louisiana weather is significantly warmer than here!

I have about 20 degrees to go on my knee flexibility, and I want to achieve that by the 23rd, as I'm supposed to see the orthopedic surgeon that day. I'm currently at 100 degrees passively, so I'm pretty happy about that. Strength is improving each day, but I need to be a little more focused on the exercises. Some of them I don't mind, but some of them I'd rather not do!

If I can get all the parts together, the Hawaiian pillow might not be a bad item to take on the trip to LA. It doesn't take up a lot of room and I could have the front entirely quilted by the time we got back - that would be great.

Hawkeye:
I like working during the day on the quilting and the crossstitching. I also have the new lights over the island, which is okay, except there are another 6 lights on the same line! I have no plugs nearby, but could probably run an extension at night if I really wanted to.

I am going on a woman's weekend in April the end! Too cool.
Four of us are going. We have another one in March, but it is local so we won't be spending money on the hotel, and it is close. Went and checked out where we will be eating, etc., on Friday! Too cool a town to live in....I would be broke! LOL
Especially with the local crossstitch/needlework shop. There is a knitting shop too I heard. Yikes I spent enough the other day, but unique things IMHO.

So glad to hear about your knee and the great recovery you are making. I know your DS and DDIL appreciate all the help you are again giving them. Its too bad she doesn't get that from her own "old" family!

Have been working on the pillow each day so far. Tiny stitches but I think I got it this time! LOL THEN I can hand quilt it!

Safe trip and good luck~good idea to take your friend with you.
Is she doing okay?

Well, was able to do both the pillow and some more cross stitching. This is so much fun during the middle of the day.
Too dark at night to do it, and have been going to watch tv in my bedroom, less lighting and can snuggle under the covers should it be cool out. TODAY! we are expecting 60 weather!!!!!!!!!TYG! The wonderful sun is out too.

Hawkeye: Aw, for a moment there, I thought LA stood for L.A. (as in Los Angeles) and got all excited! LOL.

Diana: I, too, find it easier to sew during the day than at night.

**********

The first of my big Feb. projects is over and done (except for the ETEing and PUPAing which is still in progress).

Now, it's time to start on the 2nd big project - DD's b'day. She'll turn 16 on March 2, which is a Monday. So, I want to have a party for her, either Sun., Mar.1, or the following weekend. I've always held afternoon parties for her, but maybe, this time, I'll have an evening party, for a change. If so, then, Sat., Mar. 7, would be best.

Blesss- Oh, the wonderful Sweet 16! She's such a lovely girl and so talented - does she have any idea what she would like to do when she graduates from high school? Any special areas of interest besides dance?

Kind of wish LA DID stand for Los Angeles - I haven't been there in almost 25 years - but such a spread-out town I hate driving there - your complicated interstate/highway system is a little much for me! Here in Iowa we have I80 and I35 - and a "little" interstate I380 from where I am to Cedar Rapids - about a 45 min. drive. Other than that everything is highway, although there are a number of 4-lane highways now. It's all what you are used to, I suppose, but think it would take me quite some time to be able to get around your LA by myself!
