The procrastination thread is a thread where we list our projects and try to complete the items that are hanging over our head. It's great to partner up with others who can identify with our opportunities for growth in this area.
We cheer, lend support, offer advice, and most importantly learn new methods that may help us in the future.
The other part of the procrastination thread is moving from a reactive environment to a proactive environment. For example, when you return from an outing, restock your diaper bag or purse right away. Take out the receipts that need to be saved and file them away as soon as possible so that you know exactly where they are.
It's retraining a not so great behavior for another more appropriate one.
I look forward in hearing about everyone's progress.

To all of you Procrastinators I let you ease into the New Year. We are now one week into it and I expect to see lists! (Yes, Ma'am!)
Seriously, when you have time post your new year lists add from last year and let's see what we can do to clear off some of those projects.
Last week we had over 42 items on our list, and now we're down to 28. I have to update it some more with more opportunities to shine, so we'll be back up there.
My list is at home, so I'll either up date it tonight or tomorrow morning and share it with everyone.
I can't wait to see your lists. Everyone try and bring a friend. To start with I'll bring Dianaro, Hawkeye, Bubblegum, Blessmymess, Turn It Up, Canadagirl, Phantom, TinyTina and all others. Who will you bring?

I'm going to join here with one large, extremely badly procrastinated project. Several years ago, I started studying towards a Masters of Divinity degree specializing in pastoral ministry. But then, a couple years ago I quit working on that. I have decided that it's time to get that finished - I need to complete 6 credit hours of a 90 credit hour program. Yes, I stopped when I was that close So far (since Jan 1) I have been in contact with the registrar from my school (via email). I found out that I am going to need to seek an extension for completing my program. So earlier this afternoon, I sent an official email asking for that extension. Hopefully, "the powers that be" will approve it. My next step (assuming I get an extension) is to get approval for my "Ministry Related Research Project" (MRRP for short), register for it and get started working on that as soon as possible. The MRRP calls for an extensive literature review plus original research - a lot of work! I also need to register for (and complete) one "regular" class - which will most likely be a class that is being offered in May.

If you've brought *and all others*, who's left to bring? LOL But I'll bring Pam/Dice anyways ~ she might not be much of a procrastinator, but she's a great cheerleader My list: 1)Portrait of DD2 for wall 2)DD1 Anne Geddes 1st five years book 3) Norway album *4)misc albums 5) family history book (hole punch and put in binders) *6)photo calendars *7) xstitch 8)kindness cards 9)SU mini books 10) snowman tin 11) file box 1 12) frame photos 13) make paper 14) cut up denim 15) update addresses 16) delete emails 17) make puppets 18) recipes 19) go through old correspondence 20) make soap 21) buy desk 22) go through baby clothes 23) spackle and touch up paint *24) tame misc paper 25) clothespin cuties 26) quilt 27) bathsalt jar *28) shape up *are the ones I'm currently working on. WHew! Dh has been btwn contracts for several months now. Supposedly, the New Year would bring new opportunity here. However, seems like more lay offs are happening... I want to get this stuff done so that if I have to move I don't have a mess... I also know that it's not going to get done overnight. I have an extra girl here today/tomorrow. I'm hoping that I can sneak in getting a bunch of stuff done. I have been working on paper taming 15 min each day. My plan is to work on scrapbooks for 1 hr each week and an extended evening once a month. I'm also hoping to get back into the habit of xstitching an hour each day. We've also been doing a lot of walking/hiking. Now that the holidays are over we're getting back into healthier eating too.

Aw, can't I procrastinate on posting my list? If I list it, then it means I have to do something about it, rather than just let it hang over me. Whine.
Oh, OK.
1. Call Dr. re. lab test results. 2. Call Dr. (a different one) to set up appt. 3. Call/visit school re. DD's transcripts 4. Call computer support tech. re. internet connection problems 5. Call plumber re. leaky toilet 6. Contact title company to make a change 7. Paperwork/filing 8. Finish painting my living room 9. Get donations ready for pick up 10. Call and schedule donations pick up 11. Clean out garage 12. Scrapbook 13. Carpet replacement (after living room is painted) 14. Sew blouses 15. Knit hats (in progress) 16. Mail hats 17. Clean chandelier 18. Banking stuff 19. Emergency info binder 20. Knit sweater 21. Put away C'mas decorations
That's all I could come up with off the top of my head. Some are definitely procrastinated items, others are simply stuff I'd like to do/think I ought to do (nothing dire will happen if I don't sew the blouses, for example).

Sure STRIVING, don't know who to invite?
Make appt for test
Write thank you notes List for passwords and sites Sew ornaments Make new seat covers Paint chairs Poly the table top Crochet for Senior donations Purchase material for valance Make valance Check out rods and draperies for Family room Plan dinners for exchange/cook Change checks at renamed bank Start adding to Christmas/gift savings this month Change outside lights that are burned out Work on donations Make cards for upcoming holidays Work on garage Work on Shed (Spring) Various garden zones, cleaned out Use up big freezer items Use up pantry items Organize pantry a little better Steam floors (actually scrubbed this time) Polish wood floors Filing Shredding New filing system Taxes
That's about it for now. I know I will be adding to the list. Happy to say last year I completed A majority of my list. Some of the items I didn't place on this one has to do with whether or not the money is there, and so far it isn't!

I have a "step taken" to report regarding my project - I requested a transcript to be sent to my school from another school re: a class I took there "for credit". That means I might be able to transfer that credit and not need to take that class in May. If that is the case, I would only need to complete the research project (similar to a thesis).
They have not yet made a decision regarding my extension request but hopefully, with this additional information, they will be able to decide about the transfer credit at the same time. I'm satisfied - so far, I'm moving forward with this project.

Is this a list for the year or just what you have to do now and the next few months? I'm already overwhelmed at the thought. I would like to mention that I kept putting off clearing items I had been keeping on the spare bed. Then we had to have some new cable for our tv's installed and I added more to the bed and next to the bed, and under the bed and you get the idea. Well I have cleared the bed and stuff next to it. Someone can actually go in the room now and use it if they feel like it. And the closet got some cleaning out too in this process. I still have a ways to go in decluttering and organizing this room but at least I do not feel overwhelmed and like I can't think of where to begin in it anymore.

Turn It Up: That is awesome news! Good going on clearing the bed and straightening the closet.
I try and list as many Master projects as possible throughout the year. Then I tend to work on three Master List Projects at one time. This way I don't get bored, and if I have to wait on a step, then I can work on the other two without losing momentum. As new projects crop up, then I add them to my master project list. As I work on the new project then I make a detailed list for that particular project to get from the start point, Point A to the end Point, Point Z. When I finish the project, I take out the detailed list and throw it away, and highlight the item off of my Master Project List. Repeat and repeat as necessary.
Dianaro: I so understand about the money and the projects. If I had the money my list would be much longer.
MsCdnMess: I'm glad that you're trying to get back to your big project. That's wonderful, that you're so close. When you find out your news, let us know!
Canadagirl: I put that little Loop hole in, "and all others" just for that very reason. I didn't intentionally leave out Pam/dice. Welcome Pam/Dice!
You certainly have been busy.
Bless My Mess: Your list looks great.
I have a lot of organization projects and an extensive office project to complete. It might be easier to complete if I actually put some time into the project. Hmm, I see a direct correlation.
