I finally left the house today for the first time since Tuesday. Still lots of snow but the roads weren't too bad if you take your time. We made it all the way to church and then couldn't get in the parking lot. Got stuck and a nice neighbor and a church member helped us get unstuck and we parked on the street instead.
We were driving our car as it does better in the snow than the van but lower clearance. We did not have winds at our house last night but there were big winds along the highway and in town, huge drifts built up, some people will not be getting out of their driveways until this melts.
Today got up to 33 and will continue to get warmer through the week. We might get a little more snow tonight.
We spent time after church at DGM's and did our Christmas gift exchange with her and my DM and Dstep-dad. Kids had a great time. We came home before dark.
For having been stuck at home for four days you would think my house would be in much better shape, LOL! But it has been cold and that does not motivate me much.
DH will drive me to work tomorrow and Tuesday we plan on our final Christmas shopping and grocery shopping. After that we will be staying home until Friday.

Bonnie: I do need to finish these gifts and I will be okay. I just surprised myself with the timeframe. It's sad that I bought some of these gifts the day after Thanksgiving and I'm just NOW doing something with them! BAD WENDY!
Will work tomorrow at the Christmas gifts and see what I can send out. Not sure they'll make it before Christmas, but that won't be the first time for me!
Cya later!

I spoke too soon about the nice weather...going to get back down to 30 degrees tonite. Had a relatively unproductive day until late afternoon. Tried to put away just two loads of laundry and got distracted (its still not put away!) Ended up watching several episodes of holiday shows on the food network and took a several hour long nap bc had a headache. Downloaded some pics from camera to the computer. Took out the trash and recylable book to the curb. Had to make a trip to Walmart to buy secret santa gifts for BIL/SIL (we are seeing them for last time tmorrow before they go on road trip) and got stuff for work potluck on Tues. as well. Went to Ross stores bc they were open at 8:30 on Sunday....got a cookbook for them as well. Walked the dogs for the nite. Just finished wrapping gifts and have to put together cookie tin for DH's family in MI.
Am starving, even though I ate cereal a few hours ago. Thinking I may have a ham/cheese sandwich. Trying to figure out what to do for local friend who just had a baby several days ago (bring by baked goods or homecooked frozen meal?). Also have a good friend whose husband has been in the hospital for two weeks and will be home before christmas and want to send them something. Any ideas?

Music: Mom was right, and look at all you completed while resting.
Clutter: Great going on the kitchen clean up and all. You have to be pretty pleased, time to watch a movie too! WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO! Happy dancing with you.
~~~~~~~~~~~ I am so happy too. Been baking all morning to finish things up for my "Desserts and coffee" on Friday and also for Chistmas eve and Christmas day. If any is left fine, if not I have other things I can bake on Friday if need be.
House is in good shape and I may even get to rest. Just have to write checks for gifts and put them into the cards. After that, I am done until I cook on Christmas eve! Thanks to GON, another wonderful Christmas holiday!
Diana, thanks so much for starting the new thread. I've been neglecting ya'll!
Looks like everyone is doing such a great job at accomplishing things! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to each and every one of you.
I'm managing to keep up with things thru ete and pupa but not much beyond that. I'd planned to get a lot done on Saturday but went to two stores instead....our cordless phones were dying and needed replaced, so off I went. Also got grocery shopping done, although I nearly had heart failure at my final total. Good grief! It's amazing to me how high the prices still are. I definitely will be cooking out of the freezer as much as possible!
Today I'm not planning to do much. I have already done my morning ete upstairs....I'm hoping to get some sewing done so that's my main focus this morning. Have a niece getting married in May so I need to figure out a gift...I'm thinking of quilting one of my completed tops and sending them that as a wedding present....I've got a gracious plenty of completed tops that just need to be quilted!
Have a blessed day all!
Good morning, all.
I've had hardly any internet connection all weekend long, so, couldn't post. I'm behind on reading everyone's posts, too.
Friday p.m., after work, picked up DD and her friend from school and came home. They spent the next 2 hours getting dressed, doing eachother's hair and make up, etc. Then, dropped them off at the dance and came home. I had plans to do a lot of stuff while waiting for DD to come home, but read and relaxed, instead!
DD had a fun time at the school dance, but came home sick - cold/cough. She slept in on Saturday morning, and I did a load of laundry, etc.
Later, DD volunteered at the library Saturday afternoon, and I went shopping for some Christmas gifts, put gas to the car and did some grocery shopping. Picked up DD and came home. She had a headache and fever! So, she stayed home while I went to my cousin's daughter's b'day party. Cousin lives across the street from me, so, I felt it was OK to leave DD alone while she was sick. I called her a few times to check on her and came home early.
Sunday, DD did very little beside sleep, the poor thing. I am glad that she's on vacation - this way, she will get plenty of time to rest and recuperate.
Sunday afternoon, I did a bit more shopping. But I came home feeling sick, myself - coughing, achy, etc. Later, I got sick to my stomach! Still, managed to wrap and tag my gifts to some of my co-workers. I still need to make another batch of banana bread - I didn't feel up to it yesterday. Maybe tonight.
This morning, I dropped kitty off at the vet's for his little surgery (neutering). Then, came to the office. It is a wet morning - rain all day, according to the forecast.
I've called my dr's office for a dosage clarification - once again, they've decreased my medication dosage in error!
Bless: Sorry to hear you and DD are ill. Like you said, at least she is on vacation from school and can rest. Do you get time off? Maybe the medication is causing your nausea. I hope so. Take care of yourself.
~~~~~~~~~ Pretty well set, and am going to my neighbor's house for coffee and a gift exchange. Another package out of the house! LOL

Quickly checking in to see what everyone is up too. I am actually at work today for a few hours. We had to chain up the van to get here. Since we got 3-4" more snow overnight DH's car just wouldn't make it.
DH dropped me off and then went to do our grocery shopping and mail our Christmas cards (which were done a couple weeks ago but never got around to getting stamps). Also mailed a picture that DD painted for her preschool teacher. Then he took DS to go sledding with some friends. He will pick me up in about an hour or so.
We are watching those friends of DS this evening to their parents can get out and do their Christmas shopping.
I am sick of the snow! DH and I will venture out again tomorrow afternoon to finish our Christmas shopping. Going to the nearest all-in-one type store and whatever we can find there will have to do at this point.

Bless, so sorry that you and dd both are feeling under the weather. Hoping that you both feel well soon.
Diana, great way to spend an afternoon....coffee and visiting AND gifts! LOL
Jodi, I'm with you! Sick of snow....we've been getting snow all day today....I think it's the system that last hit you folks....Trudging thru it (whether by car of by foot) is a pain. On top of that we've winds that drag the windchill down to -25 to -30...BRRRRR!!!
With the exception of 2 online transactions to get gift cards, I'm finished with Christmas shopping. I need to get a gift card for each of our mothers and then I'm done....DH and I went out earlier this afternoon and he got his stocking stuffers for me....I need to wrap my stocking stuffers and get them into the stockings....other than that, just ete and pupa....

Show you how sick of snow I am, I drove next door to my neighbors! I did it because there is ice and slush and snow all over, and I had a cookie jar for her, and didn't want to fall and break it! Needed to start the car as it had been a few days since I started it. Took a long time to warm up too! Suppose to get two more snow days this week, but WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOO we are going up to 15 tomorrow! Should dig out my shorts!
