The procrastination thread is a thread where we list our projects and try to complete the items that are hanging over our head. It's great to partner up with others who can identify with our opportunities for growth in this area.

We cheer, lend support, offer advice, and most importantly learn new methods that may help us in the future.

The other part of the procrastination thread is moving from a reactive environment to a proactive environment. For example, when you return from an outing, restock your diaper bag or purse right away. Take out the receipts that need to be saved and file them away as soon as possible so that you know exactly where they are.

It's retraining a not so great behavior for another more appropriate one.

I look forward in hearing about everyone's progress.

Would one of the moderator's be willing to close out July Procrastination Part 16?

Summer is rapidly fading for us. We're in the heat and humidity of the season and school starts in 17 days. I am so not ready.

We're going to make the most of our time and really stretch out the remaining days.

I have been prepping some food to help me ease into the transition of school and activities.

DS will be doing soccer, scouts and church. I would like DD1 and DS to also continue with swimming lessons.

DH will be working his job as a teacher and then coaching gymnastics as the head coach for the Men's program. So it will be me with the kids.

I so don't like this, but what's a person to do?! I better change my attitude, so I don't infect the kids with my stinkin' thinkin'.

I have some projects to complete/start. What about you?

What can you do to prepare for late summer/fall season? I look forward in hearing your ideas.

Striving - I wish we started school earlier here, our doesn't start til after Labor Day. I think it's a good idea to keep the swimming lessons. One thing I wanted for my kids was to learn how to swim for several reasons and now they've been on swim team for 4 years.

I searched last night and gathered papers together from 2 different areas, now I just need file them but I didn't find DS2's school supply list. I put it somewhere so I would know where it was when I needed it, and now I can't find it. Oh well the one I got from their website should be ok if they've updated it.

Our car is at the garage today to get some maintenance done and state inspection so I can cross that off the list.

Need to start getting things together for our vacation and finish up shopping for those supplies before we leave.

Striving:
I did the closing on Part 16! Just got on line first time since the middle of the night. Cable and internet out due to storms.
Sure felt strange all day not having either. TYG I had alot of other things to do in the mean time.

Bless:
Are you speaking of the bedroom switching? I should wait for you to do yours and then copy from you! I am not in the position now to change out the carpeting, etc. and don't want to change it until I can. I can work around it in the meantime by decluttering and rearranging. The items "I" assembled are on casters so easy to switch out. I wish I only had 4 suitcases to put items in! I have spaces!!!!!!!!

WE had another day of no internet...and then last night the storms were so bad, high winds tornados, so I turned the PC off.
Don't like to leave it on.

Thanks mary. The weather seems to have settled down and cooled off. TYG.

Working on the kitchen branch this week, and going thru more items in the craft room so I can switch out the cubes for the new items. Hoping the cubes can be used elsewhere here.

The last week I've gone through DD#1's wardrobe. I found a wonderful garage sale full of brand new clothing, complete with original tags. I was able to fill in most of the gaps and have a working wardrobe for preschool, daycare, church and play. I can't believe the stuff that I was able to get.

I do need to turtlenecks, two specific colored pants, winter boots, coat, hat mittens and maybe some raingear. Then she will be set.

I also went through DS's closet and dresser. He's grown again! We were able to donate a lot of clothes that no longer fit him. The poor child doesn't have any pants that fit! So we'll be looking for dress pants, jeans, and underclothes. He is set for shirts, sweaters, vests, button downs to get him through the year.

I was also able to purchase a new backpack for under a $1. He loved it and the price was right.

I thoroughly cleaned the house on Sunday late afternoon, while DH took the kids to the park.

Last night our community had an event that was great. They had lots of activities for the kids, all ages, tours of the bomb squad, police cars, fire engines, ambulances, water hose fights, bouncing games, entertainment, making rope, novelties, candy, toys, and we even had a free dinner. We had hamburgers, chips and lemonade or water! It was a great deal/time!
