A picnic sorter is great for hair stuff in the bathroom. I don't know if these are common. I used to have a wicker one with a double handle on top that separated out of the way on each side. There were four compartments for napkins, forks, knives, and spoons (one long compartment and three smaller on the other side). The long single compartment ended up being great to hold hairsprays, tubes, and potions. The smaller ones held brushes, curling irons, and the barrel of my hairdryer. Clips and ponytailers, I attached to the bottles of my products.

Maybe this wouldn't work so well with today's appliances and products, I did 80's hair with this setup hahaha! Now I barely ever even blowdry and the sorter is long gone.

A sorter like this would also be great for mail on the long side, pens and stuff on the other.

I was thinkin and thinkin and then re read the thread...

You can use your ready made foot spa (or a dishpan or a clean smallish rectangular wastebasket)

Add 1 cups of epsom salt
Add 1 cup of baking soda
Add 1 cup minty antiseptic mouthwash
Fill to halfway with comfortably hot water

Swish together to dissolve everything.

SOAK your tootsies. This feels so good. The mouthwash cools and cleans up your feet, even if you have nasties.

Pedicure if you want afterwards.

It's like Easter for your feet!

Music and Bonnie, good ideas for the pill containers. Like the sound of the foot treatment recipe. There is nothing like a good soak and a pedicure. Makes you feel you have new feet - as you say, like Easter for your feet!

Do you have an old metal 12" ruler?

I keep one in the kitchen for tearing out coupons, and one in the office drawer for "trimming" paper. They "cut" the paper so easily and quickly, much better than the plastic or wooden rulers.

I have a picnic sorter on my desk. It has 3 smaller compartments in front I put the pens and pencils that I use the most, highlighters, scissors, staple remover etc.... Then it has 2 longer ones across the back that I use to put plain envelopes (just a few) small sheet of return address labels - stuff like that -

Such creative ideas everyone. I always look forward to this topic.

Take Care

A friend just told me a great tip for owners of fish. When she goes on holiday and leaves her home in the care of someone else, she portions the daily fish food allowance into the compartments of a weekly pill organiser. Then all the carer has to do is to open one compartment and shake the contents over the aquarium. This avoids the fish being given too much food by someone inexperienced in caring for them.

The foot soak sounds very tempting! I've never done a pedicure because I hate to have anyone touch my feet...not sure why, but it's always been that way...

Waterlady..I know what you mean about the metal ruler...for some reason you can't use a plastic or wooden one to tear an even line..

Cocosma and music, I like both uses for the picnic caddy...very creative!

Bushlady..what a great way to ensure that the fish are properly fed....

Keep those great tips coming all!

God bless,

Bonnie

I filled a few empty 2 quart(1.89) liter juice cartons with water and put them in the freezer compartment of my fridge. As Bushlady pointed out putting containers of water in a freezer saves energy. The cartons are square shaped so they use space efficiently. I put them in the back corners and in the door shelves.

for those of us who are not fortunate to have washers and dryers in the house (or apartment) some of the pill containers I have are the perfect size for several quarters.
